BEING THERE TODAY

Since the people on this Board are both horse racing fans and, likely sports fans generally, the roar-the only word to describe it-as AP came down the stretch was something I have never experienced in 69 years. I have been fortunate enough to be at games 5 and 7 of the Knicks 1970 championship, the Rangers Stanley cup etc etc and it isn\'t even close. This was something to witness and hear and with apologies to Sam Rosen--the experience of that roar will last a lifetime. I refuse to ruin the moment by taking a cheap shot at NYRA\'s inability to provide internet nothwithstanding their promises to the contrary .

rezlegal: a miracle- they did!

toppled: By the time they got to the Belmont some of the women on the 2nd & 3rd floors were using the men\'s room.  From what I hear, this is nothing new on Belmont day.

jbelfior: Have never heard anything like it. The place shook. Will never forget it.

Good Luck,

FrankD.: One million percent better than last year, atmosphere was pure ELECTRICITY.

Internet was not so great but improved from last year, plenty of food and beverage, better crowd control and I\'m truly glad I was there live and in person to see a awesome performance by a very deserving champion.

We parked in the outer reaches of the green lot, stayed to see Matterhorn get clobbered at the start of the 13th race, a lil bit of the not so bad Goo Goo Dolls and left the lot in a matter of a few minutes right onto the Cross Island northbound for a very easy ride home.

Sold my $75 seats for a nice profit, hung in the backyard on a beautiful afternoon in comfort, got killed on all my posted bets, got out on Honor Code/Slumber double and was amazed by the tri and super payouts with AP, I was thinking $80 tri and $250 super :)

No NYRA bashing today, security, crowd control, food and beverage was all more than competent. Internet needs to be better, ladies room issue I guess is a one day thing, they did have many porta potties in the backyard, lack of SAM machines in the backyard area but plenty of tellers so betting wasn\'t horrible at all.

A great day all around and connected with Belmont Bob to solve many of the worlds problems!

jerry: Why is it always the ladies rooms?
June 07, 2015, 08:26:27 AM
FrankD.: Jerry,

I guess its a multiple issue sort of like the difference between a pick 3 pick 4 etc... Guys go one at a time while the fillies have a herd mentality traveling in packs!

jerry: It\'s got to be more than that. Seriously, the same thing happened at the Preakness this year. What to they do, flush their losng tickets down the toilet?
June 07, 2015, 08:33:25 AM
miff: Anything to get away from the guy they\'re with for a few minutes.
June 07, 2015, 08:38:06 AM
jerry: Absolutely. You gotta give them credit for trying.
June 07, 2015, 08:39:28 AM
miff: Very surprised that handle on Belmont down like 10%. Lots of churn lost maybe when no favorites won all day except AP.

Topcat: Mechanics/efficiencies dictate males will do their business faster.   Zippers quicker.
June 07, 2015, 08:53:37 AM
FrankD.: less socializing and male bashing as well!

jerry: Oh. So the toilets weren\'t malfunctioning. It was just girls being girls. Yea, that will slow the pace of play.
