Today marks the mid point of the meet; report card and observation time.

Irad Ortiz sits a top the jock standings and has been simply outstanding, he\'s in Arlington today and taking a Euro trip with Wesley Ward for a few days so we will see if he can hang on in the 2nd half. TAP and Chad top the trainers, no surprise, Graham Motion, Mark Casse and Brian Lynch have had very little impact despite their large presence. Kiran and Bill Mott have been solid, David Jacobson has been very relevant this meet during the week.

Some jocks to stay away from; LeParoux is 1/64, Corey Lanarie, Fernando Jara both 0/37, Absolute Cintron found the winners circle yesterday and Manny I\'m lucky to be alive Franco is 2/58.

The weekday cards have been a little light, that was to be expected with the packing in of stakes into the big Saturdays. The weather had been really good overall with a lot of rain just missing, yesterday the skies opened 15 minutes after the finale.

Personally today will make me a mere 10/20 in attendance and I\'ll be lucky to get 25 days in this year, too much going on. 3 really good wagering days have me up a little bit half way through but not much margin for error and it can get ugly quick up here for sure.

Arlington Million Day and to look at the supporting card there today it makes you want to cry. Race 1 5K B claimers racing for an $8,500 purse, a couple MSW with pots of $21,600 and maiden claimers in the finale for $11,700. Oh My is all I can say there!!! The Brownies think they can win 3 of the 4 big stakes today and Aidan O\'Brien looks to have the Secretariat in hand.

A fun social day in the back yard yesterday, not much wagering other than the late pick 4 which did not go well. Uncle Bill was holding court with many of the left over contest players who seemed to enjoy the back yard, it was neat to meet a few of the guys you read about on the contest circuit throughout the year. Magic night stopped by with his group in addition to his eloquent writing he is moonlighting as a tour guide, Rezlegal, Warren, Steve Byk, Alex from Florida all stopped by Bill\'s new employee\'s only picnic table. The weekend will be the test if his new ploy can hold a table?

TGAB has the seminar reigns today and some iffy weather is in the area for the afternoon, hit or miss.

Pick4:
Race 8:
Los Brachos, Hollywood Idol & Yes I\'m Lucky

Race9:
Elraazy is the A play with Touch the Moon & Titanium on the lesser tickets.

Race10:
I can\'t argue with the ROW and have really liked Vyjak\'s move to the turf, he just missed in his first effort where I backed him heavily.

Race11:
1,2,6 and some prices I\'m hoping for today may dictate a caveman ticket on the pick 4 :)

Good luck to all,

Frank D.

. . . and sure enough, as I type this, it\'s going to be good enough -- and dry.   Hallelulah.
