Curious to hear the board\'s recommendations for a steakhouse or restaurant in Saratoga.  Group of 7 or 8 of us on Thursday of Whitney weekend.  We will \"figure it out\" on Friday or Saturday but hoping to find a solid place to make reservations now for Thursday when (maybe??) it might not be ridiculously crowded.  Thanks.

moosepalm: I\'ve had very good meals at Sperry\'s, Maestro\'s and Mouzon\'s.  I\'m betting you\'ll hear a half dozen more recommendations.

miff: Prime at Saratoga National Golf course a little pricey but good for your size group. Never had a bad dinner there.

Siro\'s on my personal suck list since it changed hands.

jbelfior: Augie\'s on Route 50 in Ballston Spa. Family style Italian. Combines quantity and quality for very reasonable price. Owner from the Bronx.

shanahan: heartily agree with my colleagues and the staff at Sperry\'s is extremely friendly - but don\'t show up late.
Prime at Saratoga national is fabulous - ask for outside seating.  Service not quite as good, but you won\'t get cheated on the cocktails or scenery.  

Already have resv for both Travers Wkend.

Prime is obvious.   The bar is prime entertainment territory.

The Lodge is coming back, but more as a party/reception/big-group spot than anything else.   I remember the halcyon days, too.

Niall: Jack Dillons is now Bravo! Sat at the bar Sat night, quite good. If anyone knows the hidden gem that Mama Mia\'s is, you will enjoy. 15 Church is all the rage these days, quite an interesting Happy hour. Sperry\'s seems like a younger crowd, especially in the back. Then again, I have been feeling my age recently

You beat me to the punch with Bravo, for you old timers like Miff its the old Joe Collins. Haven\'t been there yet it just opened up in June but Giuseppe and crew have had a hidden treasure in Mama Mia\'s for a bit and I expect nothing less with Bravo, they do it right.

Cliffs Country Inn on 9P is still tough to beat for a good steak at a very reasonable price.

If you like Mexican, it\'s nothing fancy but good, Leon\'s on Crescent St off Nelson Ave. The old jockey Filberto Leon comes from a restaurant family and it\'s a fun place, kid friendly if your traveling with the family.

You can tell its only a week away from opening day, my phone rang this morning at 5:09 and it was Richiebee. I growled, rolled over and went back to sleep without answering. I\'m hoping he merely BUTT dialed me on the subway and wasn\'t calling for bail money!!!!!

Augie\'s on route 50 burned down a few years ago. They are now on 17 Low Street in Ballston Spa which is a few blocks from where they used to be. Same family style but the other part of the building is a church so it\'s bit confusing when you drive up.

albatross: Been reading this board for years, but never until now, needed to post. Shocked that I\'ve yet to hear \"The Wishing Well\" on 9 about 10-15 minutes from Broadway. Father Bob Lee passed but his son and widow haven\'t missed a beat. Easy valet parking, nice small bar with a piano filled with some great photos. 40-50 year institution that makes very few mistakes. Steaks and seafood are right on the money, and what comes with them is outstanding, if you like fresh Jersey sweet corn and tomatoes, not to mention the deserts. Prices not over the top, and well worth the nice ride out there.

Edgorman: Totally agree. A classic.  My number one push.  Used to have a 90 year old woman playing the piano who could name any tune in 2 notes.  I must have eaten there for 40 years In a row. Open in Winter too.

mistermoose: Put in my two cents. Sperrys is always good, the outside in back is
 fun and often has live music.  Prime is excellent but have never walked
 out for less than 100 a head. I will give you a little gem. Mio Posto
