Dan Borislow RIP

\"I have just been informed by his family that my buddy/pal/friend Big died unexpectedly of a heart attack last night at the age of 52 after playing in a soccer game in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Big\'s real name was Dan Borislow. Here is his Wikipedia profile.

I have known Dan for about 15 years, and he became a close friend. I recently spent a lot of time with his son, Danny, who will be starting at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in a month.

A Philadelphia kid who resided in Palm Beach, Florida, Dan was an amazing inventor. In addition to numerous other telecom inventions and enterprises, Dan created magicJack and founded and was chairman of  publicly held Tel-Save. His business acumen and charity (D&K Charitable Foundation) are well known in Palm Beach and Philadelphia.

An avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.....
An avid horse owner, his horse Talk Is Money was in the 2011 Kentucky Derby.

Big was a mathematical genius. Toward that end, he recently won (as I mentioned in a recent post) nearly $7 million in the Rainbow Six wager at Gulfstream Park.

Dan was the husband of Shelly and the father of Danny and Kylie.

I will miss his boyish grin and good friendship.

Dan was bigger than life -- you had to know him to appreciate him -- and that is why I never called him Dan; I always called him Big (even to his face).\"

I remember him winning that big pick 6 jackpot at Gulfstream earlier this year.  What a shame.
