It started last night. One of the last Australian races. Lee Ho Fook was the #4 horse. I thought to myself, where do I know that term from? (I have all of Warren Zevon\'s music) and still listen to it regularly. Further, I LMAO when the Movie was 1st released. I knew it was Zevon RIP, yet it took me a couple of moments to convince myself the term was from the Werewolves In London track.

So tonight after dinner and Idol (thought Alex should have gone last month) I\'m looking at the 1st race Ipswich AUS, and see Chilukki is in @ 5/1? Another blast from the past. She-it, mid post interruption, Jack The Ringer (@58/1) just ruined my quinella can\'t make this stuff up!

Anyway, I\'m reading the board here, catching up on Preakness speculation, weather?, pace?,  spacing?, health, price, etc. I check the headlines from a couple of other websites and discover Verrazano is not retired hanging with Chilukki types after all. He is running in a straight-away mile stakes on the turf Preakness Sat in GB for trainer O\'Brien.

So since Social Inclusion reminds me a bit of Verrazano, although the latter at least won the Wood. When I see comments about the 3/5 price of CC being an underlay. IMO, SI is more of an underlay at 5/1-6/1. Geez, Las Vegas is even offering bets on how many lengths CC wins by to drum up some interest (Boston?).

The Mjellish idea of tossing CC from the exacta & trifecta seems the most contrarian consequently the most valuable play. He is reputed to be an astute handicapper and his attention to details more credible than how other horses handled the 1st two legs of TC sold me. After all I believe CC is more likely to win than finish 2nd. So tossing him from the top slot dictates tossing him from lesser. Isn\'t that logical? Furthermore, Isn\'t Pablo\'s pattern xplosive in old speak?

I\'ll pass the race, concentrating instead on a stab at a price like Rebel Sky in the 1st, if it stays on the turf. How about that Md Sprint and the workout pattern & wet track record of local hero Service For Ten. This race will always remind me of the edition where the drunk tried to punch the winning horse, Richter Scale?

Tavasco,

The horse was Artax, the drunk was reportedly tanked up on Kool Aid.

Im guessing the origin of Lee Ho Fook comes from the Korean airliner that ran off the runway in SanFran (?) last year.  Someone went to press with information someone had called in giving the names of the flight crew.  They has assigned ridiculous names, and I believe the pilots name was Ho Lee Fook and so on and some news broadcast actually put this on the air.  They had to retract it the next day after they realized what they had done and people were fired.

EDIT - here is the news cast

Old Mr. Boston

The more things change, the more things stay the same...Now it\'s the horses doing illegal substances while my drug intake is limited to Lipitor and Blood Pressure meds! Good Luck to all this weekend..Ken

Checkout Werewolves of London.  I believe Lee Ho Fuk\'s is in the song.
