Was wondering if anyone recalls what the gate loading sequence is for the derby.  Is it inside out or outside in?  Thanks in advance.

Don\'t they use Noah\'s Ark method, loading two at a time?

joemama

Yea, I am aware they load 2 at a time just wanted to be sure..I think it\'s inside to outside, post 9 and 10 first, 1 and 20 last.

Far as I remember, it\'s 1 and 11, then 2 and 12, etc. You would\'t load 9 and 10 at the same time since it\'s dangerous. The jock on the 1 is in the gate the longest and usually stands up to take some weight off while the rest are loading. When 20 loads, it\'s go time.

Have decided to make a donation to charity instead of bucking Untapable.Looked hard at My Miss Sophia but in a shamless act of cowardice,I\'ll pass.

Untapable training like a bear, loves CD, want no part of her.

Thanks .  I guessed wrong on the process.  If the wrong horse loads early and has to stand in there a long time it could compromise his chances.  I am going to consider this.. or maybe I have too much time on my hands.

Jerkens has talked specifically about this re WS. Would think he very much does not want something like 1 or 11 or 2 or 12.

AM wondering if there are any other horses besides WS that could be problematic with a extended wait in the gate?
