What I liked was the next paragraph of the article was where Gural (the owner & operator) of  the Meadowlands and his other tracks bans offenders, Hooray. But other venues don\'t have the luxury of being irrational because they report to commissions and have rules?

Further, I understand Cobalt was developed on rats (slow ones probably) and typical of drug research.

Drugs? which reminds me! much of the readership of this board are of sufficient age to remember Quaaludes. The Lemon 714 scene from the recent film \"Wolf of Wall Street\" is really hilarious ... classically funny (for those who can relate) and in itself should get Leo or somebody an Academy Award for something... the soundtrack is also first rate.

P.S. I like the pic 4 special offer, even though slumping Nick Zito wasted me on my 1st attempt.

I became very upset when reading an article about the movie which mentioned
the \"Lemmon 714\". In my college years, one of the recreational drugs of
choice was the \"Rorer 714\", a/k/a the \"Gorilla Biscuit\". I thought that
someone had not done their research, but apparently Lemmon took over for Rorer
in 1978, the year after I left college.

So glad those silly wasted years are in the rear view mirror. Las drogas
destruyen tu vida.

Have a great weekend everyone and good luck. Gotta get back to planning my
summer excursion to Arapahoe Park.

Yes -- great that you are supporting racing in
Colorado, the first U.S. state to step up and
finally show some brains on a major social issue.

I am planning on doing the same. Hell, I just
might move there.

I\'m betting the 1/9 entry of Richiebee & Rick B. would not receive a (G) designating first time ganja use in their maiden heat at Arapohoe.

NY will begin testing for cobalt levels.

Any racetrack, whether privately owned, publicly held, or administered by a
state quasi corporation, or an Indian Tribe, should have the power, through
its stewards, to exclude any individual, human or equine, from its property.

This was what was farcical about the way the old NYRA Hayward/Campo regime
handled Rick Dutrow, allowing him to enjoy the privilege of the grounds and
the entry box for what seemed like two years while his 10 year ban was being
appealed.

Don\'t get me going about Florida, where the top racing facility in the state
is owned and administered by an internationally acclaimed breeder/owner, who
you would think would care about Racing\'s image and the well being of the
horse, yet this track accepts individuals who have been excluded at other
tracks in the state.

I haven\'t gone to a harness track specifically to watch the jugheads in more
than 20 years, but what Gural has done--whether it be firing a shot across
the bow of those who would cheat, or downsizing and modernizing his facility
to reflect reality--deserves some attention. I will wait until things get
back to normal at the old New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, which
is currently getting the armed camp treatment in anticipation of the Super
Bowl.

I know that either TGJB or TGAB once told me that Dan Jenkins\' \"Semi- Tough\"
was one of their favored novels. In Semi Tough, cross city rivals the Jets and
Giants finally meet in the Super Bowl, which game I think was played in
Florida or California. As such, in the spirit of Semi-Tough, will be pulling
for the Chargers and either the Niners or Seahawks to travel all the way
across country to play.

Speaking of attention, just noticed that the New York Post \"Pulse\" section
gave Gural\'s facility and its clubs and restaurants a nice full page
treatment. Hope this guy has success, and that maybe some folks in the
Thoroughbred biz can watch how he operates.

Would that be the year long slump, the three year slump or the five year
slump?

I\'ve considered any win by a Zito to be an anomaly for quite some time. Not quite Sav. Cardile territory, but close enough.
