I think  the NY Bred Program just moved up two notches.  wow.

Eight Belles

Beyer was less impressed than we were.  DRF has an 85 posted for the effort.

And lower Beyers for the other races on the card?

Just eyeballing it , that has to be the fastest race on the card, albeit not by much. I was more impressed with the 6f time and the ease up. No question another tick was in the tank.

I haven\'t looked at a beyer figure in 10 years, so I don\'t even know what that is, high, low or what.

Boscar,

I\'m glad to see that someone else in the world views a Beyer number as totally irrelevant!!!

A very impressive visual performance for sure as she was just about to a dead stop at the wire.

Being the \" sharp guy\" that I am; I played her to bounce of her 3-8-3 pattern with Kelli Got Frosty\'s projection of a 5-6 and cost myself a $ 408.00 pick 4 with 1/4 & 3/5 shots in the middle legs. BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Add that to Jose Espinoza going to sleep on Inimitable Romanee in the 6th race and getting caught by a neck at the wire costing a $ 423.00 pick 3, it made for a lovely day. Watch the replay on this one; hand riding in the stretch, looking back and what do ya know Shakeria is coming right by me, better get my whip out!!!!

As far as I can see from the replay Espy was whipping the heck out of his horse when he felt the other horse coming at him. I didn\'t see him falling a sleep at all. You get beat u get beat that\'s it. Not the first time and won\'t be the last. Hope u have better luck today and perhaps make up for the loss of not getting ur horse home first. All the best........

FrankD.

Thanks for the condescending reply:
I suggest you re watch the race and notice the hand ride, then a look back as Shakeria was suddenly along side; he never touched his whip or moved a muscle until he was passed.

I\'m not one to whine about take downs, photo\'s, bad beats etc...
Simply pointing out a bad over confident ride by a substitute jock, Jeremy Rose was named to ride originally. Espinoza had a snug hold and came 3W to swoop the group and thought he had the race won.

Talking about bad rides....

Did anyone notice the ride that Jose Lescano put on the #2 Campogiovanni in Belmont\'s last race yesterday????? Takes up at the start to LAST, then sweeps around the field on the back stretch, then idles along side the speed, and yeah has nothing left to the wire.

Fnnn UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!

We get it guys.  You bet and lost.

Blaming riders has been a crutch since the sport began and is always wasted emotion.  In both these two cases the arguments concerning jock error are plenty empty and merely sour grapes.

NYRA.com has the replays.

Totally wrong he for sure went to the whip before he was passed. I suggest u watch the race again. By the way IMO whether or not espy used his whip or not he was going to get beat. His horse was all out. No, I did not have anything riding on the race. It\'s what I observed from the replay. It\'s very clear he went to the whip BEFORE he was passed.

Have a great day and may ur next photo finish go your way. All the best.

This.

I don\'t know what Frank was watching, but Espinoza clearly went to work on his horse a full length before that horse came to him. Blaming the jockey for this loss is ridiculous.

Same with the finale.  How many times have we seen a horse make a bold move around the turn and flatten a bit down the lane. Idling along the pace??  Just how far was that horse supposed to make a sustained run??

Your horses lost, get over it. The jockeys had nothing to do with it.

Thank you....... Nice to see someone else chime in and view exactly what I viewed on the replay. What\'s right is right and what\'s obviously wrong is wrong. Espy did the best he could with what he was on. The other horse was a monster down the middle of the track, was hand ridden all the way to the wire and was going to pass Espy no matter if he buzzed his horse.

Jerry, if posts needed to have a purpose, there would be 3 messages a day on the entire internet.
