Another perfect morning, decent attendance for a Sunday, and a typical
PJ \"manes and tails\" card. I will try to be as concise as Frank D, which
should be easy as I only stayed for 5 races.

First: The presence of 1/5 Pletch/Ward entry made this a non bettable race for
many. Maggie made a rare appearance and gave capsule observations of many of
the new shooters. Maggie said that Rainbow Dreams still had some growing to do;
I seem to recall this one making a brief middle move, will not cost me
much of anything to follow.

Second: JB negative on the Clement 6/5 favorite and the race produced a $22
mutuel.

Third: JB negative on the two favorites, but the eventual favorite and winner,
Backdown, had as large a TG edge on his competition as any runner on the day;
also had a perfect trip.

Fourth: JB generally positive  on the winner here. JB and Topcat did nicely
here with Roy Lehman\'s Arsenal getting into the exacta and almost winning,
with Topcat giving a strong stretch call for the Jerry Grote (1-5) exacta.

Fifth: JB characterized this as a chaos race. Most thought that Pletcher\'s
Citizen Emma was a vulnerable fave at 6/5 from the outside post. I held a
ticket in the P4 alive to four of these. Longshot Mariel and Kathy put token
pressure on Emma, setting up the cavalry charge. D Wayne\'s Broken Spell broke
DWL out of his Spa funk and busted my P4 ticket. The second and third
place finishers, Always Kitten and J\'Esprit, showed promise in their first
starts.

Sixth: JB liked two long shots, Miami Cat and Balance the Budget.

Seventh: Labeled a Chaos race, but it was more Dominquez, more Chad Brown, and
the resulting short mutuel.

Eighth: JB negative on Center Court. Short field, short priced winner.

Ninth: JB positive on Royal Sighting and Caviar N Champagne. My personal
opinion is that RoySight needs to go back to turf, will bet then.

Tenth: JB liked the winner, who was 9/2 ML but 2/1 after scratches. Good
breakdown by JB of trainer Jacobson\'s success with \"dirt,short rest,sprint\"
runners; JB called him an \"old fashioned claiming trainer\". JB\'s point well
taken, as the new (last five years) NYRA features a prototypical horse which
will start 9-12 times per year with at least half of those starts turf, so
short/dirt/back quickly runners are a vanishing breed.

Again, can\'t say enough about the knowledge shared by JB, the camaraderie of
fellow TGenerates and the venue provided for the Forum by Carolina Cue.
Carolina Cue p.r. man Frank \"Frankie BrewPub\" D will be happy to know the
patio area behind the Cue was crowded with satisfied diners throughout the day.

The \"Richard Marvin Butkus\" 5-1 exacta would have been better for me, but no complaints, whatsoever.

Marvelous.   Alas, the subtleties will be lost on the masses.
