I\'d spend $25 on Sheets with a $50 bankroll...even when JB doesn\'t catch the winner, his comments expand your view into the handicapping picture...TG presented an invaluable set of numbers on Derby Day.

I could argue that Shackleford was a single, but even a novice Sheet reader could see that Bet the Power in the 12th, 5-1 morning line, was a key horse...with a $48 ticket I missed the late P-4 only because I whiffed on Little Mike...as Jerry has pointed out time after time, it only takes a competitive fig to get a runner home on a ground-saving trip...as far as the 12th race went, I saw only three contenders, with the $42 winner Mr. Ticket a litely-raced 4YO cycling forward(toss the last on syn) AND circling back to some promising figs...I couldn\'t blame the Sheets for missing on a $15 late P-3, Bode/BTP/1,5,10.

As badly as Oaks day went for me, Derby day wagering began with a $28 P-4 singling Shackleford in the last leg, worth $975.

The point here is not my personal ups and downs, but that nearly every outcome seemed plausible when the race was reviewed.

Great Derby day, Thoro-Graph!
