Some gossip going around the CD strip this am as a source close to Leparoux said that Union Rags made a small noise in his gallop and a tongue tie was added. Not the best time for a breathing issue

sighthound: Tongue ties are used to keep a horses tongue from getting up over the bit, where it (the horse) then becomes uncontrollable.

Some trainers used to think a tongue tie held the tongue forward, preventing dorsal displacement of the soft palate, or epiglottic entrapment, but no, doesn\'t really help.
