Jockey Paco Lopez is expected to miss up to two months after suffering a broken collarbone and six fractured ribs in a spill at Gulfstream Park March 17, according to his agent Cory Moran.

Lopez and jockey Antonio Gallardo were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital after the three-horse accident. Gallardo was released from Memorial March 18.

Lopez, Gulfstream\'s third-leading rider this year and leading jockey last year, was aboard favored Little Bailey when she clipped heels and fell at the top of the stretch in a 7 1/2-furlong turf event for 3-year-old fillies, throwing Lopez.

Gallardo, was thrown when his mount, Miracle At Sea, struck the fallen horse and fell. Gallardo was reportedly sore but had no broken bones. A third jockey involved in the chain reaction spill, Luis Jurado, walked away from the incident after his ride, Morediamondsplease, also tripped over Little Bailey and fell.

The horses involved in the $35,000 claiming race mishap were not injured, according to the track.
