someone just crushed the 5  (4th race in the exactas) nothing to win

If it wins , there will be no end of complaints on the payoffs.

andy serling tweeted that the 5-13 exacta was paying less than the 5 to win before the race was off

Boscar Obarra

wasnt just the 5-13

nice score for that crew. 50k-100k or more at least. Triple was quite low as well.

You dont see this too often in NY anymore.

dcbred1

Probably a stupid question but any idea who?

TGJB

Someone who\'s bookmaker only takes win bets.

Don\'t know about that Jerry. If a book got that action why would he hold the win and take a beating on that?

I must admit, the last time I remember seeing action like that was  Lebon, the time he lost.

PS for those who care and understand such things, he was 8-1 in the exacta pool

BB

How do you calculate that, Boscar? Is that $18 times the place price or is that share of the top spot on the winner?

Boscar Obarra

Thats the price you\'d get if you dutched the exacta pool with the horse on top.

Was pretty much untouched in the place slot, they didn\'t feel like wasting good money saving on a \'sure thing\'.

As for board watchers scoring out, I doubt it, as the payoffs ripped higher at the end. They may have bought a few tickets, but the only score was by the barn.

This used to happen a lot more often in years past.

Only horse to overcome a speed bias early on also.Five of the first six winners were right on/near the lead, this horse,Unusual Laz,6+lengths back after the first quarter.

Acme stable got most of the money in a tough situation considering the wet track condition/ running profile. In some jurisdictions(Kentucky for example) they would take a look at the betting pattern on this race and maybe \'tag\'the samples.

Very nice put over!

Doubt there was anything amiss here. Classic case of a horse trained away from the track, sitting on a big one with few in the know.

Wonder if they actually intended TURF or were looking for dirt.

love how they reached out for a bug with no weight off. (just hang on kid)

miff

Box,

Not suggesting anything wrong but:

This horse could have run at Parx/elsewhere for same purse but came here for pool size.Unusual Heat more turf meant, imo. Cohen got off, rode the favorite(first call I\'ll guess) Acme Stable stayed in the race on wet dirt and still bet their money.

Lotta stuff there.

Certainly a great score. But.....

They left quite a bit on the table.

The horse (20-1) was the third leg of the Pick-4 and 3 legs of the 3 Pick-3\'s.

I figured that about a $3000 investment, they could have taken home an additional $70,000+. In 3 of the bets (P-4 and 2 P-3\') the damage would have been done before the tote board readers caught on.

Great game!

Boscar Obarra

The title of my thread, before the race, was in honor of how much they were about to leave on the table.

Ntheiroff

They certainly did a yeoman\'s job of getting the horse ready and keeping it quiet.
To some degree, must be \"rookies\" of a sort. To have only attacked the exacta I guess was a relative \"no brainer\". They probably wheeled it. Those other 4 pools were pretty juicy, but it took some thought.
