My feelings exactly.

P-Dub

He\'s professional, has a sense of humor, handles his duties pretty well.

What type of host would you prefer??

I thought he was pitiful....and couldn\'t pick his brother out of a flock of Chinamen.

His job was not to be a pro handicapper, his job was to be the talent and try to make watching and learning the races fun. He tried to bring a sense of humor to the game and in his own way he mocked people who constantly, day after day, sweat out the chalk. He would make the case for telling people instead of going seven deep in a race, go ahead and grow some ba**s and single your top pick. The game was lucky to have him.

Finally someone who gets it, instead of another bitter comment.

Spa, your comment is offensive and racist.  Then you have the nerve to call Rudolph pathetic after that asinine comment. Brilliant.

I thought he did a good job! Started in 99?? That was a long run in any job, much one that can pretty redundant like covering races daily like TVG does

Wish him well.

Another idiotic comment.  You made an insensitive, racist comment. Unfortunately, you\'re too clueless too understand that.

I\'m not even talking about his handicapping.  Could care less about the talking heads picking races.  Rudolph was whiney and annoying everytime he was on the air.  He added nothing to the broadcasts.   Just my opinion.  If you liked him, all the power to you.   He won\'t be missed in this house.

The Today Show did damn near a whole hour of flashbacks and stories when Meredith Vieira left.

Folks here don\'t like Ken, we get that -- but it was very clear at TVG today that this guy was extremely well-liked and even respected for what he brought to the table.

Are you that hard-core that you can\'t miss 2 minutes of warmups at Oinky-Doink Downs so his co-workers can say goodbye to him. Wow, yourself.

P-Dub,

He had a sense of humor, which is appreciated, but did you ever learn anything from him about horse racing?   You want to say the host of a horse racing show doesn\'t have to know about horse racing, then you can say that, but Rudolph on TVG was akin to Dennis Miller on Monday Night football.  I like Dennis Miller, but hated him on Monday Night football.

Simon whatever and Frankie whatever may be less entertaining (and it seems Frank is occasionally inebriated), but they do seem to at least know the game and I have heard things from them that are insightful about handicapping and worth listening to.

Get me more Brad Thomas on TVG.  To me, he is the most interesting analyst out there, always pointing out some angle that is never \"captain obvious\".  Of course he isn\'t right all the time, none of us are, but he tries to tell you something that isn\'t easy to notice about every race he analyzes.

For my money Rudolph isn\'t close to being the worst though.  That award goes to Todd Schrupp for me.  His voice is like fingernails on the chalkboard.

BTW, as somebody who pays for the service, we get to critique it.  Customers are allowed to be happy or unhappy (and take their business elsewhere).

Whether we should do it on the TG board is probably a different question.....
