Just read where Terry is retiring. There was much written about his call in the Ark Derby on this space. Unless I have missed it, I am surprised at the lack of comment concerning Durkins call of the Belmont. Perhaps you had to be on track to to hear what he DIDNT say, and thats the mess of a start and its affect on AK ... Not a word concerning it ... I was quite surprised to hear the Collmnus call on the replay ...

Terry letting it all go, or just the PA?

FYI - TW did a political ad for a candidate opposed to CCella, and soon after his string of race calls ended.  That, compounded with just plain getting old and missing calls are probably what inspired the bar patrons at the 16th pole bar to draw up the petition calling for his ouster...nice man, proud man.

Not surprised to see this at all. A legend of the game who deserves all the honors and accolades he receives, but the race calls were tough to listen to this past meet. A lot of silence while the race was going.

There more than a few of these....

There should be a statue of Terry Wallace at Oaklawn.

Silver Charm

Agree! Good guy, remember him from his Hialeah days. Sort of an outside the family sort of choice for Oaklawn but \"Good Track Announcer\" and that\'s all that matters to the listeners and fans....

drbillym

Does great impersonations during his calls, too.
