I\'ll enjoy it pushing her odds even further down as Mike Smith tells America that she is better than Secretariat.  Hoping for 7-5 by post time.

I\'m a Blame fan but it would be great if she introduced some new fans through 60 mins and then won..

You really think that many 60 Minutes fans are going to be wagering!? Only degenerates like us think \"how can I bet on this thing I just saw on TV\". Most normal people might casually think, hey, maybe I\'ll watch the BC classic on TV - what time is it on? I don\'t see how she\'ll be that low anyway, but what do I know? By the way there\'s nothing wrong with a 7-5 shot in the BC Classic IF she wins - some people on this board think that\'s akin to root canal or something. You still can make loads with multi-race wagers. I\'d rather have a single I can depend on when structuring tickets - makes it so much easier. Though I\'m not saying she\'s that single. I have no idea really how to play the race. I still think \'Lucky might be dangerous.

Definitely hard to stay ahead of this game by betting a 7-5 shot IF you think the horse has less than a 42% chance of winning.

No worries of that ever happening to me!

Will the double, pick 3, pick 4, or pick 6 pay 7-5?

You & my mom completely agree! :)  Just for the record, I didn\'t say I was singling her. I said GIVE me a cold single in a multi-race exotic, and I will make money; I don\'t care what the odds are, but I need a reasonable guarantee the horse will win. I get no pick six if a great, intelligent and well-meant longshot selection doesn\'t win -- doesn\'t help me one bit. I didn\'t mean to imply that the 2010 BC classic was THAT scenario. But I know there\'s a huge difference between a bad 7-5 shot and a good one. The thinking on this board is that all 7-5 shots are bad. Yeah, that I don\'t get at all.So if you singled said 7-5 shot and won a pick six worth 1.8 million, that 7-5 wouldn\'t be good??? I know you can\'t win a 1.8 million dollar pick six without cold singles, and I do know how to structure a ticket, and you need at least 2 singles. That\'s all I\'m saying.

TGJB

Pick sixes with carryovers have nothing to do with any other bets. Because of the carryover they are overlays, and all you are trying to do is find winners. If you keep on just looking for the most likely winner in other situations regardless of odds (even assuming she was in this case) you have no chance to survive. You are far better off simply putting the money that you would put into singling her into betting the horses you like in the other races-- just because they offer a certain bet there\'s no reason you have to bet it.

No, you don\'t \"know\" this. You can\'t \"know\" this. There are no hard and fast rules on how to structure a winning P6 ticket, other than your ticket structure must include at least one winning horse in each leg of the bet.

You might \"suspect\" that it\'s \"hard to achieve\" such a winning bet without singles...but that\'s different.

An economy of words isn\'t a good idea when posting what amounts to an opinion, not a fact.

Dana666

Point well taken, let\'s be as specific as possible. You\'re right. I was implying that someone with a relatively small ticket (say under $500) would need, IMO, at least 2 singles to structure a pick 6 ticket with a reasonable shot that is also based on some form of logic. You need the singles to win so you can structure the ticket as to allow for long shots in other races. Yes, there are no absolutes in this game, only liars made from absolute statements! Earlier Jerry made a good point about just playing those races in which you had a strong opinion, and playing pick sixes isn\'t mandatory! Someone like me who hasn\'t won in a long time probably shouldn\'t be playing pick sixes at all. It is just the lure of past scores that lurks in the back of my mind. Of all the pick sixes, the BC is most likely the hardest.

Mike said she can make up 10 L in two strides.  Hope he doesn\'t mean it ;-)
