Maximum Gloating Allowed Over Winning a "show" bet?

Just wondering if there is a \"board maximum\" when it comes to gloating over winning a show bet?  We might be approaching it.........

As for the rest of us, not reveling in our winnings over our \"show\" wagers, any thoughts on the Belmont?  Looks like a pretty disinteresting race.  Ice Box, the chalk, should have won the Derby, but may not get a good setup for the Belmont.  Fly Down looked real good winning the Dwyer and has beaten First Dude before, which looks good now based on the Preakness result.  First Dude seems to be coming into his own and may get the top in a controlled pace setup.  Dublin has another \"excuse line\".......

I think the Belmont will be a pretty good betting race, with clear bet againsts and a couple of bet-ons, maybe one in particular. We\'ll see.

I think I already know the horse TGJB\'s got for us:  \"Fidelity.\"

Since everyone\'s being so coy, I put a layer of opacity on it.

I am looking forward to Belmont Day and hope they can fill up the rest of the Stakes Card with some good fields.

This is one of the Triple Crown races and its a prized race like the Travers, Haskel or even The Met, etc, etc.

The maximum amount of gloating over a Show Bet is ZERO. I mean no one cares other than the one who placed the bet.

It\'s a desperate cry for attention: \"Hey, look at me! I like to bet ALOT to get very LITTLE in return!\"

Be gentle -- guys like that usually don\'t have any friends.

No Derby winner. No Preakness winner. Dick Ebersol over at NBC has to be asking himself why they bother with horse racing anymore. This race holds all the intrigue of a Wednesday allowance IMO. But I hope you guys crush it:-)

A horse that finished 5th in his two stakes tries?  Seems a reach.

Will be interested to see what Setsuko\'s odds are. Lots of buzz on that horse out of the SA derby.  May be a price.

Slower paired tops for Stay Put but he\'s already improved five points and lots of wide goes into his #\'s.Maybe if he was working lights out at Belmont and they tossed his rider.

The one that interests me is Stately Victor. He has an ugly looking sheet until recently but didn\'t run bad in the Derby off the big Bluegrass#.Would have to train good with the surface questions-hopefully Maker sends him to Belmont early.Had a work over the fast CD training the other day which seemed okay 1:00.2

Baffert\'s horse improved with the blinkers. How much is the question. He did run a solid one turn race back at GP early in the year.

Make Music moved up a couple in the Derby now five weeks.

Big,

Several horses sucked up in the derby off the fast pace. Icebox and Make Music both tripped out because of dynamics and would be wary of them and any horse that was back early.Derby last half raced in almost 54 seconds, beyond pedestrian.

Likely favorite Ice Box requires a creative play against with reverse dynamics looking to be the case in the Belmont.Figure wise, this bunch really not far apart so a case can be made for most.

Do you see any similarities between Jazil and MMfM coming into the Belmont? That Belmont contained a similarly slow group.  Jazil had also tripped out with a 1W1W Derby run in which he came in 4th by the process of elimination in which he picked up the pieces as opposed to making any type of sustained move. He wound up winning the Belmont because he could run 12F, not because he could run 12F fast.

Not all Belmonts are alike, right?  But there are types.

In one type, and I am not sure this one qualifies for a comparison, the Belmont is won by a recently developing horse that didn\'t run in the earlier races.  I go way back to Pass Catcher...possibly the longest priced winner of any race that I picked and hit.  But then you have Conquistador Cielo and others too.

If this Belmont falls into this category, the \'now\' horse would be Fly Down.  I think.  It seems to me that Zito holds the cards.

Al,

Zito\'s Fly Down all the early \"buzzz\" at Belmont Park. Liked him last out against the completely over rated Drosselmeyer(where did he get his reputation from?)

FD ran big at Belmont at the 9f distance while running a new top for sure getting the last 1/8th in a strong 12.1. The fig looked to be in the 0 zero TG range, have not seen it yet.Showed sharp from the gate, taken way back and made a big run.

Think he will take lots of money and be dangerous if he trains up well. The other Zito, Icebox, I keyed in the derby but hate his running style for the Belmont.

Fly Down is my pick.  Others can have Ice Box, the two Dudes, and Mandella\'s plodder - I\'ll take Fly Down.
