Can Borel wait?

Only 3 horses have run pace numbers that come close to SS, they are: SD, YT,and FD.  So far they have not been able to transfer their pace number from track to track the way SS does, AND, his numbers are faster.  If Borel doesn\'t get caught up with them early, he should be able to go by them when they start to slow down.  I\'d be most afraid of SD.  If they\'re not sent and SS gets an easy lead; he should just keep going;  I don\'t anyone will out accelerate him. This isn\'t CD, and I hope Borel and TAP don\'t think he HAS TO BE ON THE LEAD.

What\'s up with TAP entering another horse against his KD winner?  I can\'t imagine how Win Star is putting up with it.  What is he going to do, enter 3 off his bench against him in the Belmont if he wins the Preakness?  This is not just some other stakes race; this is the Triple Crown.  If I owned SS, I would have a new trainer now.  Hell, Elliot could train him at this point.

You\'re just kidding, right?

Good Luck,

Well, it might be too delicate a situation to SS to change trainers at this exact moment, but I still think it is outrageous for TAP to enter Aikenite against his Derby winner. Why is he in the race - to lose?  Has any other trainer ever entered a horse against his derby winner?  Couldn\'t he find another race for him?  Is he in just to finish 2nd, 3rd, or 4th?  If he is, he could win the race.  How many times have we seen the \"lesser\" TAP horse win the race.  He\'s not a rabbit.  If he\'s in to pick up the pieces, who\'s to say SS may not be one of the pieces?  Look at what happened yesterday in the BES, 2 horses fell.  You\'re never sure what\'s going to happen.  That\'s why they call it a horserace.  Aikenite made a big late move in his last race.  He \"could\" do it today and keep going; he\'s an improving 3yo.  Now I admit I\'m a little sensitive to this because I\'m alive in the double, but I still think my point is valid.

"Aikenite will breeze five-eighths (May 9) and we'll see how that goes. We like the way he's been training since the Derby Trial (gr. III). His Blue Grass (gr. I) was disappointing and we felt like we needed to get back on track. We think we did in the Derby Trial, which was a good performance. So maybe a fresh horse coming into the Preakness is a good thing."

or MAYBE not..

Lukas beat his Derby winner,Thunder Gulch, with Timber Country in the Preakness.Always thought Thunder Gulch ran interference(Boxed Olivers Twist) so that Overbrook could get the win.Nah.--Jett

Screw SS.  I hope Aikenite wins...I\'ve got him 10 times in the double.

Well, Borel didn\'t wait.  2 out of the 3 strong pace horses I mentioned were there at the end, and the early pace was very strong for the distance, but those horses were fresh, SS wasn\'t.   But, SS wasn\'t going to win even if he took back yesterday.  Luckily for me, I used SD, FD , and YT in all my bets, and picked up the exacta.
