I have done really well betting the Derby over a forty five year period with 16 or 17 winners, but last year I was so confused that I decided to make only a token $20 bet and then sit back and enjoy the spectacle.

Nevertheless, I kicked myself on the way to the window at Churchill because I was betting Beyer\'s selection, the Sheik\'s horse.  And I kicked myself as I heard myself call out the number.  And I kicked myself on the way back to my seat.

What did this guy do to offend the horse gods so badly that they\'ve cursed him this way?  Is there anything that we can do to help him?  Should anyone try to help him?
