This really isnt anything significantly different than if he was sold to be a Stallion. Just that Zayat as it should be is no longer going to be a partner in Esky as a stallion. Which is how it should be considering how in debt he is.

In a related matter, anyone notice how Sheikh Mo, who said that Dubai\'s financial
crisis would not affect his bloodstock/racing operations, has not been making
high profile horses of racing age purchases since Abu Dhabi bailed out Dubai?

I actually like this horse but now am not sure I hope he wins the Derby.

When is he ordered sold by the court?

After the Breeders Cup?
After the Triple Crown?
After the Derby?
At the Quarter Pole of the Derby if up by 2 and being hand ridden?

This just does not help having a Derby winner looking like one of Houdini\'s elephants.

Who accepts the winners Trophy? Zayat? The Bank? The Bankruptcy Judge?

How about these buyers? Any back door deals with a local Lexington Farm to get a BIG $$$ Stallion on the cheap and get their own bailout by maybe the same bank on the hook for Zayat\'s debts?

I just don\'t like it......

All it says is that he\'d be sold in 2010 -- in other words, as a stallion prospect.  No big deal, just another 3yo who won\'t be racing at 4.

Considering I don\'t expect him to make it through his 3yo season, that\'s why I say no big deal.  If the horse was sound, then that\'s a different story and we could use the horse staying on the track.

The soundness issues aside this horse would have had a better than average chance of staying on the track for another year if the owner was not broke.

This is as simple as that. People need to get debts paid and the only way is to sell the horse.

I am a little curious about some of those project revenue numbers that Zayat had in his reorganization plan that were rolling out like 5 years. What was he assuming the horse was worth, stud fee he could command and I guess this was lumpd in with his other Stallions like, POTN and Zensational, etc.
