For whatever it's worth, Calvin committed to ride SS in the Derby today

I know that many handicappers discount which jockeys choose which horse but I put a fair amount of stock in Calvin\'s decision here.

If he knew Super Saver couldn\'t get the distance, he wouldn\'t have committed now.  Other owners/trainers would toss their jock right now to get Calvin at Churchill.  He may not be much at other tracks on other days but there\'s no one else anyone couldn\'t possibly chose in a 20 horse field at CD. He rode super saver in the stakes win at Churchill last year and again in the Ark Derby. He knows the horse and I think he believes he can get the distance.

It\'s Esk\'s race to lose but I am liking SS more at least underneath after I saw the sheet today from the Ark Derby and Calvin committed.

Total aside but Esk\'s sheet looks alot like Bandini\'s to me.  However, it also looks a little like Big Brown\'s.  Fun game.
