Well put by Pegram and a well written story by Lenny Shulman on the Bloodhorse site. Becoming one of the elder statesmen of the sport carries a lot more responsibility than when you are the new kid on the block.

He appears ready and the sport will be much better off for it if he is. Congrats Bob!!  

Baffert's readiness with a quip and his proclivity for being at the center of the party have masked his obvious abilities as a horseman.

His longtime friend and client Mike Pegram noted, "Bob's always been the most competitive and serious person about the business, but people didn't see that for a long time because he was acting like a clown."
