Baffert buys a nice colt Vallenzeri

The son of A.P. Indy and Azeri finally sold for $1.9 million in the 2yr old in training sale at Keeneland. Sounds like a lot but Vallenzeri, previously owned by the Allen E. Paulson Living Trust, failed to surpass reserves and sell for two whopping bids: $7.7 million as a yearling at Keeneland in September, and $4.4 million in its January Horses of All Ages Sale. The $7.7 million was a record for a horse not meeting its reserve price.
