Horse cuts and bumps.............will recover. Jock,no news.

Lost Cause

Ron Anderson, Gomez\'s agent, told Santa Anita officials late Saturday afternoon that Gomez lost several teeth, suffered a gash on his left knee and had a swollen hand. The jockey was undergoing precautionary X-rays, Anderson told track officials.

The race after Indyanne seemed to bear in and break down around the same point as the previous horse.  Is there something at that point in the racetrack that could spook horses?

speaking of Gomez, how about the ride aboard Gio Ponti? ran two lengths slower than El Gato Malo, but still finished 2 lengths in front of that foe, even after starting in the far outside 9 hole.
