jockey helmets and shields

I see they are saying the plastic is hard to manufacture quickly for the shields they are now wearing at SA...why don\'t they just wear hockey helmets that come wtih visors?  Or is that too simple?  Geez Louise, just go to any sporting goods store and get one - they\'ll be fine, they ar every light, and have to be more protection than the ones they have now.
