Why is the BC held during the World Series, the height of the college football season BCS mess, the middle of the NFL season and the beginning of the NBA season? Makes no sense to me. And - on top of that - ESPN is also the NASCAR channel now. WAKE UP Breeders Cup! It will get NO coverage, especially on ESPN, if its held this time of year. How many station promos did you see on ESPN in the weeks leading up to the big event?

Wouldn\'t it be feaseable to hold the Breeder\'s Cup in the middle of February rotating it between Florida and California? After the Super Bowl is played the first Sunday in February, there\'s a huge drop off in sports interest and media coverage. If the NTRA and BC are serious about promoting horse racing, which it should be, they will pull their collective heads out.

He would make better sense if he still used Ron Anderson to do this part of his work. If I were him, I would retain Ron Anderson again, in time to make some sense on TV, while there is still time to regroup on his PROFESSIONAL image. At least in terms of analyzing races. He was hard to like when he was doing HIS thing, which was impressively consistent; now he\'s embarrassing himself. Which I thought I had been waiting years to see, but I take no delight. Actually, all he would have to do is subscribe to you know what, then add his personal twist.

Silver Charm, what were you referring to? I just looked at the Analyis package in the Redboard Room and I see only two possible bets cashed all day (11 races). One possible cash was a 4-horse \"box\" in the 9th. The Analysis wasn\'t specific about whether the recommended 4-horse \"box\" was an Exacta, a Trifecta, or a Super. If we assume that \"box\" meant Exacta then it was a cash. If the \"box\" was used in either the Tri or the Super then it was a no-cash. The other cashed race was the straight Win bet on Curlin in the Classic \"at 4-1 or greater\". So I see 1 for-sure cash and 1 maybe cash out of a slew of recommended bets. So how did you come up with the \"Five out of Seven\" tally?

Juvy Filly-Loser

Juvy-With the inside draw War Pass will almost certainly save ground on both turns,he's going to be very tough.

F&M Turf-Loser

Sprint-Midnight Lute and Benny The Bull definitely scare us,but with just one big effort each and the prospect of a tough trip we'll take our chances.

Mile Turf-Kip Deville is the most likely winner of the race

Distaff-Ginger Punch,Lady Joanne, and Unbridled Belle look strongest here.,

Turf-English Channel is the most likely winner.

Classic-Curlin is the most solid of the contenders

JimP that is the Late Pick Four, which paid $1,500 for a dollar the Late Pick Three which paid $150 for a dollar and five out of six in the Pick-Six with their primary selction in the Filly and Mare Turf (Wait a While) being scratched.

Uncle:

A few comments:

1) This was the 24th Breeder\'s Cup ever conducted. I believe it is fair to say
that as much as racing fans and horseplayers love the BC, it has not become a
mainstream event. The only time that the public really gets involved is on the
first Saturday in May and maybe on the first Saturday in June if a Triple Crown
is on the line. The Breeder\'s Cup has not \"crossed over\". The truth is that
Racing never will cross over because Racing\'s efforts to cultivate a fan base
are laughable.

2) Given that the BC has not really been accepted by the general public,
sponsors are not going to be overly enthusiastic about supporting BCTV. All of
the BC sponsors are entities which have a longstanding connection with racing,
such as Emirates Air (owned by the Dubai Brothers) and Bessemer Trust (owned by
the Phipps Family). Seven hours of programming and not a single ad for beer,
fast food or soda. Something wrong with that picture. (I do not know if Dodge,
John Deere, Emirates Air, Bessemer, etc pay for BC advertising exclusivity, but
the same ads are seen over and over again).

3) I know ESPN has an extended contract to carry the BC, but the truth is I
would like to see the telecast produced by an entity which specializes in horse
racing broadcasting and offered on a pay-per-view basis. Lets say for $100 you
would get 8 hours a day of live programming for the 10 days leading up to the BC
(interviews, analysis of prep races, replays of old BC races, a few hours of
programming along the lines of TVG\'s \"Works\", handicapping seminars, etc), all
culminating with an uninterrupted BC broadcast on race day which features in
depth analysis of track condition, equipment, etc and also features extensive
coverage of pre race warm ups and gallop outs. This broadcast would be
presented with a web site which offers will pays and multiple race probables.
Cmon Buck I see you reaching for that $100 already...

4) To hold the BC in February at either Gulfstream or one of the California
tracks solves the weather problem, but unfortunately excludes what are (still)
the two primary racing venues in the US-- Kentucky and New York. And Woodbine
and Arlington are especially well suited to host BCs with their expansive turf
courses. Furthermore, Gulfstream  has been rendered unfit to host a BC due to
extensive \"Stronachization\" of the facility.

Richie,

Speaking of Frank, while he was being interviewed for Ginger Punch, I could not hear what he was saying at Monmouth, but somehow I thought I read his lips ...\"I am a great Breeder or horses but I also have a couple of Race tracks for sale \"..........

NC Tony

NoCarolinaTony

Yes they have a series called the Sunshine Millions which actually does quite well, but excludes the primary breeding state........

I have pictures of what jerry was doing after the races.....

I guess you aren\'t using the picks that TG made in the Analysis product. That was my reference. I recommend you check that out since it has specifc picks rather than the general comments that came with the Sheets. I got the Sheets and made my own picks from that. The figures were sound. The TG handicapping in the Analysis was not quite so sound.

Hardcore handicappers constantly forget about the live animals involved

All TB\'s have Jan 1 as a birthday.  An early-year Breeders Cup would be empty of horses.   Zero two-year olds, and three-year-olds with 2 races under their belt.

MO

The concept of a \"revolving site\" for the Breeders\' Cup is partially to blame. In America, you can market a box of rocks and some fool will buy it.... if they know where to go to buy it.

The KY Derby is a great example. Louisville is a difficult city to fly in or out of. (On a Saturday evening, there are NO FLIGHTS to Louisville from Philly, Newark, JFK or LAG.) In fact, Louisville would not even be on the map if it were not for the KY Derby. Yet the Derby regularly sells 130,000 seats for ONE RACE and TV ratings dwarf those of the Breeders Cup, racing\'s BIGGEST DAY with 11 RACES.

It\'s all in the marketing.

You\'ve got me curious- can you post them on a website or picture sharing site?
