I am reading that everyone tossed him...why?  I singled in the pik 4 - he was lightly raced, and his # was as good as the other contenders.

Shan,

Beyond the numbers, TAP is ice cold(1 for 24ish) and if you watched this horses last two races he was totally \"empty\" off good trips.Add that Johnny V is 1 for 40ish.Also the TAP horse that lost the 3rd at 1/2 was also empty getting run down from behind for 2nd, no less.

Everyone waiting for TAP to bust loose but his horses are not only losing, many of them are without a run. VERY STRANGE!!

I\'ve seen instances from time to time where almost all the horses in a particular barn were running sub par efforts because something was \"going around\" in the barn.  After they all threw in a bad race, they mostly came back with very good efforts after that (and you got a better price).

Has anyone heard whether any of his horses have been sick?

Fkach,

Very Astute. No reported \"snots\"(yuk)at the TAP barn or excuses being offered.I guess duh White Mercedes must have broken down AGAIN.Seriously, I cannot recall this barns runners not only not winning more but not running a lick, especially the expensive babies that worked fast in the sales.

The timing of all of this seems to be right after Lawyer Rons win( the new fastest horse in the world)TAP reportedLY \"testy\" lately, I guess he wants to win bad up here and his ego might be bruised.

Miff,

I took $8.80 on Wait a While at an Exchange. I guess Pletcher\'s not going too badly. ;-)

the redboard win I can take. the extra 80 cents I can not.

good hit though. Gomez was brilliant. saved the first turn ground, much of the second, and WaW was gone before Vacare even \"steadied in traffic in upper stretch and altered course back to the inside\".

the bet was against Mott though. he was spotting Clement and Pletcher a lot of conditioning time with MT, and the speedball didn\'t figure to hang with these late.

TG top, imo, for Wait a While who is substantially faster on Rags, Beyer and Bris.

I really didn\'t consider an $8.00 horse to be redboarding. If you can\'t come up with an $8.00 horse once in awhile, you\'ve got problems. ;-)

Exchanges are a source of some valuable bets. Not only do you occasionally get much better prices, you can book action on horses you hate. Typically, if you hate a horse, you are forced to construct a bet on other horses to take advantage of the situation. The problem is that it\'s not always clear where the value is. We all have limitations to our insights. I often find myself staring at the board knowing the favorite or second choice is vulnerable, but I have no idea how to bet the race. At an exchange, I can check the price and book bets against the horse if the price is similar. That simplicity is very valuable for someone like myself that is honest with himself about the kinds of races and situations I understand vs. those I don\'t.
