The Louisiana Derby was all telling according to richie b.

Fast pace, perfect trip and nobody in the field? I would agree
with just the fast pace part.I hardly consider 4 wide in the far turn
perfect. As far as the field he beat:Ketchikan was runner-up and coming
off a 1/2 TG#.This horse was a Bear until injury sidelined him.Zanjero
was our 3rd place finisher. The Blue Grass is a tough measuring stick, but
the bottom line is Zanjero was beaten a nose and a head for all the cheese.
CQ walked his dog in the LD.

C\'mon boys.We\'re in an ever changing world.8 weeks is not a big deal.
If you look hard there are enough cases with horses coming back off deeper
layoffs and running monster races.It\'s not as if he\'s been turned out.He\'s
been training like a banchee and next week he\'ll explode when Johnny V clucks
to him at the 3/8th\'s pole.

My view of the La Derby was that CQ sat last in the field with no horses around
him, was taken wide the turn to avoid any traffic, and went by some overmatched
foes.He was ridden that day with supreme confidence, which reflects both on the
quality of the horse and the depth of his competition. If he can work out a
similar trip in a 20 horse Derby, I admit he will be a very strong factor at very bettable odds.

By the way, you forgot to mention Slew\'s Tizzy, surprise winner of the
Lexington, was 7th in CQ\'s La Derby.

As I mentioned in a prior post, if you like CQ the 8 week layoff only increases
the odds on this runner.

MO

8 week layoff and the TG 3yo bounce angle makes this horse a throw out. Pletchers best shot clearly is Scat Daddy and Street Sense kicked his ass big time. This is one of those races where I think I have a mortal lock to win - provided I get a good post, good ride and no cheating (buzzers, drugs, CD making up rules as they go along, etc...). I can hear John Lennon now \"Dream, dream away.....\'

Imagine your horse winning
It\'s easy if you try
The Pletchers spinning
No need to ask why
Imagine drawing off by daylight
Winning on Derby Day...

Imagine there\'s no competition
It isn\'t hard to do
No horse to challenge
No Quay or Curlin too
Imagine the trifecta
Cashing Pletcher free...wooo hooo hoooo...

You may say I\'m a dreamer
But I\'m not the only one
I hope someday you\'ll join us
To cash on figures its fun.

Imagine no Scat Daddy
I wonder if you can
No Quay or Saturday
The juiced horses also ran...wooo hooo hooo
Imagine all the people
Betting substance free...

You may say I\'m a dreamer
But I\'m not the only one
I hope someday you\'ll join us
And the world will live as one

I\'m starting to get really excited. I wish the Derby was Yesterday. I\'m not nearly as confident that Curlin can be dismissed and I wont dismiss him.

CtC\'s Derby odds line

Curlin 9-2
Scat Daddy 6-1
NoBizLikeshowBiz 7-1
Circular Quay 8-1
Street Sense 8-1
Teuflesberg 12-1
Hard Spun 12-1
Cowtown Cat 12-1
Great Hunter 14-1
Anygivensaturday 14-1
Stormello 15-1
Storm in May 16-1
Tiago 18-1
Zanjero 20-1
Sam P. 20-1
Liquidity 20-1
Bwana Bull 80-1
Dominican 125-1
Sedgefield 125-1
Cobalt Blue 500-1

Odds are an estimation of actual off odds. With a couple of projected chances thrown in. For instance I will be playing Pletcher to miss the trifecta money even though i have one of his horses taking 2nd money in the pools.

MO

Actually I was referring to \"#9 Dream\" from \"Walls and Bridges\".

Hey Ctc,

After Dominicano\'s Bullet Work today at CD, can I get some of the 125-1 action you are proposing?

NC Tony

MO

I\'d take 4-5 this horse wont hit the board. (1-2-3)

In fact, I like this horse better to be off the board than  I do Street Sense to win. Any takers at say , 3-1?

P.S. I have 4 spades after the flop and I hold the K. You don\'t have the ace. What do you do?

NoCarolinaTony

IS fourth place hitting the board Nowaday\'s?

What is my payout if he does hit the board?

You don\'t know what I am holding .....So I anti up, and raise you.

In a REDICULOUS field of 20, the superfecta is not a consideration, unlesss you have a lot of $ to waste on a 8-10  horse box, or, like in my case you have a mortal lock to win. I can save keying in 2nd. But I might have to invest a grand on o 5-1 shot, and I might get phucked anyway.

If you love a horse at 5-1, bet your balls to win. When he loses,BE pissed off, just don\'t be surprised.

NoCarolinaTony

Kinda Like I did last year on Barbaro @ 6-1. But I liked BG Cat to finish in the $ too at those odds.

MO

Are you raising on GH to hit the board? If so, I\'ll call you $25 and raise another $25 right now, straight up he\'s not 1-2-3. 4th don\'t count. And no more raises.

Bet? (Total of $50 GH ain\'t on the board). When time of payoff comes, we meet for a Sabrettes hot dog near the TG office, go upstairs and force Alan at racingformpoint  to be referee.

I go all in representing I have the ace and watch you fold the probable
winning hand.Fortunately and unfortunately for you we\'re speaking horse flesh.
I liked SS and CQ evenly up until I saw SS not change leads in the BG.Calvin Borel\'s post-race interview was very unconvincing also.By all means though, have at
him.Bet out!Throw CQ out and please tell every sole you know to follow suit.
My only issue is traffic, but a decent price may make it worth the while.

A fast horse should be able to shade a minute flat. I told you that he had some semblance of speed. He\'s an El Corredor after all. Hes Super Testacular!!! But, damn he left his Derby on the training track. I\'m sorry Tony, tough break. Post work odds reassessment. Dominican 150-1.

I lost to Barbaro twice, but kicked his butt too.

MO

I will not fold, and despite my new lower partial, I still have more teeth than Calvin. I\'m all in. Just depends on how much, and when the paycheck arrives.........might be a $50 bet, might be $300. One way or the other I cash and get ALL the glory, or I lose and look for the next guy with pocket aces.:-)
