ALLURING BEL why

ALLURING BEL won as a fist time starter in a MC32 today at SA. My question is why was she in the race if she could run some. She sold for $30,000 at Barretts last year and she happens to be a full sister to 2 Stakes winners. Her dam was a stakes placed winner of $200+ who has now produced 4 winners out of 5 foals of racing age. Were the owners just tring to get some of their money back?

It could be she was just ready for a race, this was the only thing close in the condition book, and the trainer thought she\'d be under the radar as a firster.  Was she claimed?

No. Of course few MC$32 get claimed first time out. But her breeding I would think was worth more then that.

What was her sale price? That is the true price she is worth till she races. Plus expenses.  Easy to say a horse should have sold more till you have to sign the check.

What factors made her the choice in the analysis?? Just curious.

I use the Trainer and Sire Profiles when dealing with first-timers.  Notice that the \"1st time out\" TGI for sire General Meeting is the best in this group.  While Mullins does better second out, there\'s not much to worry about in this race.  In general, with a field this weak, I look for first-timers to bet.  
The co-pick, Laceyontop, a one-number filly, had the best number going in.  I was warned about one-number fillies many years ago, but I still get drawn in to that sucker bet.

Then you add in the fact that the filly was full sister to 2 stakes winners. Until she ran her mare was 3 winners out of 4 foals of racing age now she is 4/5.
