Jake just announced on the Ragozin site that they will be posting their BC figures late Tue. Could be a coincidence that it happened after I made all that noise.

Or not.

Jerry,

I can feel the anticipation in your posting......

Tonight, when you go to sleep, it will be like a child on Christmas eve who can\'t wait to wake up the next morning and see all their gifts....

Any chance you will be shocked and get coal (which in this case would be good accurate figures from Ragozin?)

I guess we will see tomorrow night.......

That\'s pretty funny, Jimbo.

The thing about this BC day is that from a figure-makin point of view it highlights a lot of the differences between our figure making \"philosophies\", or rather, between those of Ragozin, and Andy and myself.

I didn\'t forget about your e-mail. I\'ve been waiting to see if they post the numbers to address many of the issues raised by both you and Steve-- it\'s much easier to show how this stuff works than to explain it in the abstract.

Those guys catch one break-- the Sport Page and Discovery were not BC races, so they can probably get away with not posting them. Same situation existed between those two as between the Distaff and Classic-- you couldn\'t treat them the same without it coming out screwy.

Jerry,

I don\'t want to play the role of \"grinch\", but I think if you get a response from Len and company on your points, I have an idea of what it will be.

I think you will see the distaff very slow on Rags, relative to your figs.  Len made the point in his seminar that Ashado was a very strong bet against and that several of the other top contenders had very suspect patterns heading into the race.  He will justify the slow figures by pointing out that he expected the contenders to run poorly, and they did.  He will also justify the Classic by saying the Gold Cup was a very slow race and Borrego\'s race in the Classic justified this.  He ran his \"usual\" race and because the race didn\'t fall apart in the BC Classic, like it did in the Gold Cup, his \"usual\" race was only good for 10th.

I don\'t believe either point, but it doesn\'t matter what I believe.  The figs can become self fulfilling.  As you and I agreed before the BC Classic here on this forum, Borrego\'s race in the Classic wasn\'t going to prove much because both you and Rags expected poor performances, but for different reasons.  The poor performance happened, it just so happens that it is a bounce on TG, while it was probably a pairup or so on Rags......

Well, we will see tomorrow night!

That Sport Page was a helluva race - they really played hard ball in that one .  If I\'m not mistaken and I very well could be but , a post on the TG site prior to the BC had Mr. Ragozin ( at his seminar ) touting a horse FUNFAIR
that went trpl k that day , So naturally I\'ve been thinking about the horse and curious to learn more about that one .

jimbo,

He will almost certainly have the Pleasant Home race slower than TG, but it may not be as slow as expected. Those guys seem to have a problem with breaking out races based on changing track speeds, but I don\'t think they have as much of a problem with it when there\'s a wind against them in the backstretch (in a long race) or there\'s a shorter run-up.
