Gorilla Effort

Started by Silver Charm, October 20, 2005, 01:31:52 PM

How does one go about measuring an effort like the one Gorella had in the QE II where she dove down on the dead Keeneland rail turning for home, looked like a winner then flattened.

Anyway to quantify a double-dead rail into a fig. Fillies have had success in the Mile before.

jbelfior: Good point regarding fillies in the mile. The negative is she is now with Biancone. Let\'s see...he\'s had her for almost 2 weeks now. Should be enough time for him to screw her up.

Good Luck,

Silver Charm: You are right about Biancone. One of the sites with the Pre-Entries list the French Trainer Gorella used to have as the trainer of record.

Obviously that was an error so she is a total throw-out.

NoCarolinaTony: Please enlighten me about the Anti Biancone Bias?

I missed something somewhere and would like to get up to speed on this....

Silver Charm: Just kidding.

From everything I have heard he is really a good guy and the results speak for themselves in regards to his training ability.

Ill-bred: The man won the Arc twice I believe. Once with a filly.

Loved Gorella\'s run in the QE II but she\'s coming back quick and that was a big effort.

This race is one of the tougher calls on the card for me.

manning: He trained All Along (his female Arc winner), that\'s enough for me...

bdhsheets: Busted in Hong Kong for doping...

Silver Charm: Himself or his horses.

Makes a big difference in my impression of the guy.

beyerguy: To be fair, the incident in Hong Kong would be considered VERY minor here.  They don\'t play games at all, wish we were more like them.

Silver Charm: Bally\'s has set the over/under on how many winners on Breeders Cup Day Vet Allday treats at 2.5.

I bet out on the over.

ProfWins: That\'s an interesting point.  Anyone out there know which horses Allday will be treating?  It may make a difference....
October 23, 2005, 10:35:54 AM
Silver Charm: Yes, I do.

There are two races in the Pick Six where I am going to key Allday and then in the other four spread Allday.

After the Post Position draw and then when I listen to Jerry\'s analysis I may find a couple of more to throw in. But purely as savers.

Seriously with all the money at stake in terms of both Purses and Prestige I am \"positive\" Allday, his Trainers and Owners will be pulling out all the stops.

Or the syringes at the very least.

bdhsheets: And interestingly he disappeared for a long while before resurfacing in the US.

Romans, Pletcher, Frankel, Dutrow love Allday, performing miracles for their horses\' aches and pains. Anyone else?
