HP,

I think tabithas math is wrong.

2x3x5 = $30.00 for a $1.00 bet.

nunzio, you would be correct if they were all different horses, but they aren\'t, so there are less combinations.

It is $12.

HP

Nunzio, that\'s how you figure pick 3\'s. BTW, as far as I\'m concerned, feel free to post whatever picks in however much detail you want. That\'s why I asked. I appreciate the help gents.

Looks like quite a card with plenty to play. HP

JJ, Sorry, you are correct, good luck.

I\'ll add an explanation in case you\'ve got more tri\'s or super\'s.

A,B w/ A,B,C w/ A,B,C,D,E

A,B in top spot counts as 2
A,B,C in second counts as 3-1=2
(you subtract the one because one is taken up by the top spot)
A,B,C,D,E in 3rd counts as 5-2=3
(again, you subtract the 2 because 2 horses are now taken by upper spots)
so it becomes 2x2x3=12

this holds for any bet where you use the same horses in different spots --- if you used all different horses in the 3rd spot (for example), it would work out differently (you wouldn\'t subtract the 2).
that\'s why the pick 3\'s are straight multiplication.

ps

thanks for the weather update.

off the turf today, I imagine the grass will have some give to it tomorrow.

See that? People helping people. That\'s what this board is all about (sniff).

Got to work so I can have free time to GET DOWN later. The good part of this is that I\'ll be able to relax and enjoy the day tmw since almost all the handicapping will be over with.

Good luck to all. HP
