They give away 500,000 in purse at Colonial Downs and the trainers scratch 5 of the 11 horses, with perfectly firm turf and great weather conditions....

jim,
the scratches were all cross entered in the $500g Del turf race. i guess they didn\'t want to face english channel. i have been a huge fan of EC from her first race, but i\'m not touching her at 2/5. one to watch i guess.

Ok.  Agreed.  Tough race to bet.  Maybe a token wager for me on Classic Campaign. I thought he ran real well last time, just moved too soon.

The Churchill race is tough too.

Jet Prospector runs a negative 3.5 at Monmouth, a 4 point new top.  Now leaves Dutrow and goes to MArgolis.  Almost \"has to bounce\".

Level Playingfield has a healthy pattern, off the paired \"0\'s\", but might be slow with these.

Battle Won also coming off a big top, negative 2 on Derby day.  Gets more time t recover, so might be less apt to bounce.  But 4-5?

Gators n Bears has big back figures, but bore out last time in a bad race.  Like the confidence of the trainer to ship again and drop him into graded stakes, no \"class relief\".  Maybe an excuse last time?  Playable for me at 3-1, but not with confidence.

re CD 9th - i was going to take a shot with battle won, but i can\'t take even money. i will make a small bet on kelly\'s landing. looks a bit slow, but i\'m hoping for a move through the \"1\" level. stevens should save ground for much of the trip, and the horse gets in light.

Michael D.

break through the \"1\" he did - SET THE TRACK RECORD!!...... don\'t often get 11-1 on stevens

Hopefully you upgraded your \"small\" bet to a medium bet.

Good call on the 1.  Looked slow to me.

Michael D.

unfortunately the bet remained small. KL had been hitting the 6f mark in pretty quick time in his previous races. i thought the cut back to 6f might produce a new top.

any thoughts on the Hol stakes? i have the #\'s, but looks like a pass for me.

At the weights, Uraib might be worth a play.  Could be \"cycling forward\".  I love to bet against Megaherz, because she drops 20+ lengths off the lead and it would seem that everything would have to go right for her to win, and usually she rallies wide.  But usually she wins.....

The only issue with URaib, is that she won\'t be a whole lot closer to the early lead than megaherz, although she will get the jump on that one.

I like Court as well, and he usually gives you a good ride.

i like the pattern on agata, although she looks a bit slow. she ran two decent 10f races in france last year. matched her top stretching to 9f in last. i\'m hoping to see another 2 points of development here in her return to 10f. gets in light, and should get a nice trip here. 4-1 ml isn\'t very appealing, but i think the odds will drift higher from there.

Alright, you sold me a little on Agata.

Uraib was worth a bet, but brutal ride by Court killed any chance.
May they all come home safely!
