I made a math error.

I suddenly spoke very highly of this horse on this board and was contemplating a futures when I found that my internal math was off. Iced Out actually closed better.

I still think he\'s a good horse, but I don\'t want to mislead anyone here.

Nobody closed better than Don\'t Get Mad. Granted, only 7 panels but his final 3/8 went in 34.83 seconds or an astonishing 56.8 FPS. That is real race horse time.

Here is my Don\'t Get Mad disclaimer:  Look at the 1/2 mile split of the race 46.56.

Don\'t Get Mad got to conserve alot of energy and make one run.

Next time Don\'t Get Mad will be something like 6/5.  I watched the replay again this afternoon he did no other work but sit behind a dull pace on the rail and make one run on the lone speed.

I\'ll throw this one out for sure next out as he is sure to be overbet for what he actually did and since everyone saw his move from a betting standpoint it isn\'t worth much.

In my opinion the bet out of the San Vicente is CONSOLIDATOR who was lathered up in the post parade, and took some bad steps on a track he seemed to not like.  He was wide and should wake up next out going long at a price for Lukas.

Iced Out had a funny trip. I don\'t know why he dropped out of contention like that only to finish very well. I may have to watch that replay a few times. I thought he was a very stong contender.

I liked Iced Out too. I had him underneath. he was only beaten a couple lengths. It was a very odd trip on the little analysis I did. His second quarter was the fastest of the race and his last fraction was also fastest. He took vacations in between. Maybe I can set it up on a page so everyone can view it.

Iced Out running line:

start 7th
1/4:.....8th by  6 3/4.....23.50
1/2:.....7th by  5 1/4.....46.75
3/4:....11th by 10.......1:11.61
Str:.....9th by 8 1/2
Fin:.....5th by  2 1/2...1:44.54

Wonder what happened? He fell back to last after a half-mile then came running real strong.

Watch the replay on ESPN Wire to Wire or online.  He was shuffled back to last on the turn as he was behind a tired horse.  Had nowhere to run in the lane and was bumped a few times in the stretch.  Got loose and then flew home.

I\'m suprised it hasn\'t been written up more in the racing \"media\".

You might want to recheck your math here.

Iced Out.

I just watched the race and yes he did get cought on the rail in the last turn behind a tiring piece, and cicrled around and followed the winner, but did not see the bumping. Track announcer does mentioned he showed late interest. I don\'t know though. Comic Strip has only produced one SW so far.

His last 2 fractions were not faster than Scipion\'s.

This horse is not your Derby winner but could be a nice runner.

My opinion as of today...lol.
