First of all its funny that the old TR. of this colt said he wasnt going to run him in the derby, and how does he feel now that his ex. colt just won it. Then again he did get alot of money for him.

Also i like to say i\'m on here saying yes i was way off on the top two hosses. My marks about him i think was \"bounce city\" i dont want to hear about the track was playing to speed this hoss ran his ass off. I always hear one big number is not as bad as two big numbers. Now this hoss gives us three big numbers. Is this the kiss of death for him and he runs 6th in his next race at 5-2. After this race i\'m a little gun shy now to say stuff like that.

Hell i had fun today.........It\'s only a horse race.

Agreed, I was having a decent day up until the derby, but sunk everything into it and came back with nothing.  I wondered aloud on this board a couple times about the lack of pace in the race, and it ended up being a self-fulfilling prophecy that I disregarded in my wagering strategy.  I was just convinced there would be a bounce from the paired up 1s because of the absolue speed of the numbers, not the overall pattern itself.  But it appears no one else was ready to run either.

Buddha scratching probably hurt too, he may have pressed the pace somewhat.  It certainly made the odds a lot lower on Saarland, MDoro, and perfect drift.  My other self-fulfilling prophecy, \"the trend is your friend\" burned me with the Lukas horse, another good run off a lexington performance.  The baffert horse I can understand, I still don\'t understand the Lukas one.  Does this horse like chocolate or vanilla milkshakes?

But man, what a great day down there.  Could not have asked for better weather or better scenery.  Incidentally, I did not see Crist on the Caesars riverboat, but noticed he included several paragraphs about it in his derby diary.  I did hear Wesley Ward being paged in the casino at 130am the night before the derby, I thought that was kind of funny.  His horse did not run well the next day, coincidence?  LOL.  Oh well, \"wait till next year\"

I\'ll give you credit, you did say that about pace, but I have to ask what made you think that? Even with the scratches and Maya, all of whom may have been pressing early, I thought there would be plenty of pace. I think maybe others read it that way and, as a result, were a little tentative.

It was interesting to read today that Baffert spent a half and hour telling Espinoza not to move too soon and he was still able to walk on the lead. I have seen many times late tactical switches can blow all this pace handicapping out of the water.

It looked to me like Perfect Drift had the Perfect Trip and I was sure he would get it turning for home. Delahoussaye was the only one on his game out there. I knew he was baked when he cut around behind War Emblem instead of charging through on the inside, which is what it looked like he initially tried to do coming out of the turn. HP
