Okay Jerry, since you took exception to my prior user name (The Kid), I\'ve changed it...

(Actually, I had difficulty logging in, so here we are...)

Anyway, I have a serious question regarding the new oval at Charles Town. Without revealing trade secrets, how is that track playing differently since it\'s been banked. How do you go about adapting to the new circumstance?

The same will apply to Laurel, which, by the way, seems to be running behind even the modified schedule.

Also, do you do live ground, either with an observer or via streaming video?

Ground at CT and other \"satellite\" tracks is done by the computer, which takes the post positions and points of call and works out where the horses figure to be. We then check the results against the chart comments manually for every horse, looking for \"moved up 3 wide\" when the computer has the horse on the rail, etc. We have checked this against video, and it\'s very accurate. You can tell the ones done this way (as opposed to by an observer) because the ground calls are printed in italics on the sheet.

If you are asking whether a change in banking would cause a change in what types of trip would be effective, you are asking the wrong guy-- I don\'t pay much attention to that, and I don\'t handicap CT at all. I don\'t think I\'ve ever bet a race there, which is amazing considering how long I\'ve been playing this game. There are guys out there that do-- they may have an opinion.

If you are asking whether we do the figures differently at tracks that are banked differently, we do not. It\'s hard to see how it would have an effect unless different paths are banked differently.
