Purity of numbers

Two questions here.

One, I often regard with some skepticism figures from DEL and PRX. Any others agree or disagree?

Two, likewise I hold the same regard for off turf slop figures. Don’t know why but they often seem to be aberrant. My prejudice is that the crown is often the better part of the track albeit the wider trip too. Not sure if 3w on a sloppy surface really is a disadvantage.

Jerry, I too completely dismiss DEL/PRX and dont\' bother to include in any serious handicapping whatsoever.
I don\'t recall ever wishing I hadn\'t.

I would not seek for TG to adjust or change the numbers -- however, there are some jurisdictions where the testing is more lax, so the figures should be higher when running there -- you need to look at some of those numbers as \"aided\" whether it is horse for course type of move up or some other form of unique advantage -- I think if you look at the numbers carefully and take such contextual issues into consideration -- I think the issue is can be properly dealt with. I very strongly wouldn\'t want the powers that be to be tampering with figures to try to make them fit with other jurisdictions better if they think the figures are otherwise correct.

This is why we have a track specific category in the trainer profiles.

The Mid Atlantic/Delaware Valley (Parx/Pen, Md, Del, West Va) is and has always been Dodge City.

Some places take testing and enforcement much more seriously than others. I’ve been raising the alarm about that for years, an upcoming Jockey Club initiative (which we are a part of) will help. And about the only good part of the bill that got passed is that it APPEARS to take the drug problem seriously.

Not suggesting anything of the sort. Just asking if bettors on this board regard PRX and DEL figs with skepticism or just flat out disregard them completely.

I usually disregard very fast PRX numbers, unless the horse has run very fast other places too.
You are not alone.
