I think Chess Chief is being overlooked.

Dallas Stewart is extremely dangerous in these big races. The pattern is intriguing. He woke up when adding blinkers and has been inching forward every race and I don\'t think a 2 or 3 point jump is at all out of the question. I love horses with incremental, but not huge improvements and this horse is in peak form at the moment. At 30 or 50 to 1, how could you not?

He has been working lights out at Churchill and word on the street is that Mike had his choice of Chief and Gusto and he chose Chief.

I\'m not saying he\'s going to win but something to look at underneath for sure. A very worthy Key.

What say the experts?

He is the second slowest horse in the race on TG.  In my opinion, a 3 point new top only gets him in the discussion for filling out the tri.  There are several fastest horses with nice patterns. I don\'t want to talk you off a bomb, but in my opinion, you need both the new top and several others to X to be in the tri.

Maybe Chess chief is getting good, but I\'d question the \"word on the street\" about Smith.

Sounds like Smith agreed to ride Chess Chief before Baffert decided to enter Mucho Gusto.  I also note that he has never ridden either one.

I wasn’t aware of the article. It’s just what I had heard. Maybe “word on the street” was the wrong idiom to use...

Not trying to mislead anyone or spread false hoods here... It’s certainly hearsay. No argument there. Take it for what it is.
