How about some picks for opening day

OK, I\'ll start.  I think the 2nd half of the day is where the money is.  I\'ll be taking it easy the first half Friday then come out guns blazing as the card progresses.

6th:  I\'m going with #11 Same Crazy Guy even though there\'s the fear of an 0-2-X and a bleak looking Thoro-pattern. Won here last year at this distance.

8th:  I\'m going with the unknown figure filly #5 Limited View based on some stuff that obviously has nothing to do with her sheet.  When a horse wins first out and is bet to 6/5 for a trainer who almost never wins with first time starters, she\'s got to be something special. Ships up from Md. with some great workouts under her belt and drags Prado back to the Spa with her.  Savers: 1 & 7.

9th: #9 Sweeping Paddy finally got back to her 2YO top in her last race and could explode with a lifetime best on Friday.  Should get the job done.  #1 Fifty Five has class lines I just can\'t ignore and has a good enough top to run back to, to fit in well here.  #3 Defiant Humor ran a new top in her 3YO debut and may continue her improvement. She gets 6 pounds from my top 2 picks.

10th: While I expect a lot of players here to be falling in love with the bomb who for those who bought the sheets looks faster than these, I\'ll try to beat her with #3 Submit who ran a very strange race in her 3YO debut, dropping back to last on the turn and then picking up over half the field.  She ran a good enough number that with further improvement puts her right in the thick of this and gets one of the best jockey changes I\'ve seen in quite a while. She also is getting weight from all the older fillies & mares in here.  Funny thing about this race is Submit is my best bet of the day & the bomb is my best value.  At long enough odds of the bomb, I\'ll have to play both and will box them in the exacta.

Not opening day, but if five hearts gets in to the turf sprint for Sunday,
she is very solid. She is dropping, but training well and nothing
is amiss. Trying to win a nice purse at the always difficult spa meet.
  good luck to all.

well race didn\'t fill so wait for another day.

I\'m wading in pretty easy tomorrow (plus I have to work then have lunch with my girlfriends who just don\'t understand that Saratoga is >>>> the pool.)

As such, I\'m more observing than playing on Friday but do believe I\'ll use a few of my #Huddie bullets on Snowfire 6-1 in the Schuylerville; and potentially either Beshert and Gold Shield in R7 as each has robust odds along with a few things each going in their directions so we\'ll see.

My big play tomorrow may focus around Nacho\'s filly in the other stakes.  She\'ll be about the longest price on the board but gets a sweet little 115lb impost, giving weight to EVERYBODY else in the field, and a cozy run saving ground where she\'ll have plenty of pace to change if she can get clear.  Furthermore, this filly is right there in terms of ability and should really appreciate a cutback from 9F and wide post of the Regret (where she still ran a close 5th).

He line is definitely progressive and apparently portends for a 39% new top.  Also that running line two back when 2nd vs freaky-good colt Sonic Boom looks pretty compelling combined with the fact Nacho is firing caliente right now, I gotta have a little taste of big odds on Fizzy Friday.

I thought Snowfire was very impressive in her first. Not the easiest trip but made the race look easy and seemingly won without undo exertion. The problem is most all of these fillies have impressed previously. Since TAP is only entering one this year I am wary of Stainless. Curious that this Flatter filly stayed in FL through May then to the Spa. Suggests, to me, she c/b surprisingly good.

My perspective is catching and running by all of the speed horses from the outside in this race should prove much more difficult than in their previous races. Dream It Is, Mel\'s Gone Wild, Limited View, and even Buy Sell Hold present obstacles and I expect the winner to come from one of the front running group. Of course one or both of the outside horse could get started better today.

A batch of horses who can\'t seem to win. I respect Gold Shield and I\'m currently inclined to box that one with Messi & Backsideofthe moon if he gets in. Treading lightly.

I think you\'ve landed on a live one here. I\'ll protect by putting her under the Chad Brown Irad Ortiz filly believing Chad points to Saratoga and anything is possible with his projects.

Thanksfor sharing your thoughts and good luck.

FWIW Stainless has been getting handled in works by Honey Glow. Maiden race 5. Not sure if she is a poor worker, off her game or Honey Glow is just very good.

I\'m referring to NY. Not sure about Florida.

Sure hoped you cashed with your bomb.  Not often you get 18-1 on the fastest TG horse in the race.

It got me a lot of the money I lost earlier back.  The thing I didn\'t understand was how the analysis missed it. I thought most of the people who bought the sheets would have been all over it and dropped the odds. Unfortunately I had gotten stuck on Submit because I played her in her last & only had the win bet on Joyful Joyful.

RICH

surprised the analysis did not have that in there, nice call
