Wrongly

Anyone know how much they invested over the 4 years in operation.  In a drf article I read that Ernie Semersky and Dory Newell's Conquest Stables was, \"listed buyer of 68 yearlings or 2-year-olds since 2012 for a total of $21 million.\"

In a Bloodhorse article on the dispersal I read, \"Conquest sold 100 horses for total receipts of $11,207,500, exceeding the consignor's expectations.\"  I also haven\'t seen how much they record in winning purses.  Just curious.

$7.8 million in earnings during the last four years per Equibase.

Strike

I don\'t know the guy but he appears (in the press with his quotes) that he is a bit of a glutton -- with comments like -- I am building the largest Porsche dealership in the world. Next will come the largest Audi dealership in the world.

With 100+ horses in 4 years I guess he wanted the largest stable in the world. Takes a lot of money to have that ambition and I figure it just got out of hand. Not the money part for him as he apparently has plenty of it but that is a lot of horses to even keep track of. Also, it appears that overall he was just doing OK. Egos like his don\'t want to just do OK.

Sounds like he has at least created the largest traffic jam in the world with the construction of his largest Porsche dealership in the world right outside of Chicago. It is being compared with the Christie fiasco in New Jersey.
