The Bond horse was inexplicably bottled up the entire trip by Irad in his last. Mile and 1/16th probably a bit top short and 1M and 1/4 to long. Expect a much better effort but price of 3-1 is way too light in this field even though he has lost to nothing but good ones.

Patterson Cross draws inside for a ground saving trip. Could not close into a crawling pace and a blast home finish first out. Walked out of the gate that day, was lost 4 wide on the turn. Shows up here off a bullet work for Hall of Fame layoff conditioner. At 15-1 the light is very green....

Either the 1 or the 6 would have made a big difference to my pick 5 payoff back on Jim Dandy day had they gotten up as I was alive to both.  That field struck me as being a weak field overall and 1 horse was working well in the AM with a decent older minor stakes type.  The 1\'s debut was better than it looks on paper, as you can see on his sheet, and he comes back now with first Lasix and adds Blinkers.  Get\'s the rail and should save ground all the way around.  I expect him to improve in this spot if Rosario doesn\'t butcher the ride.  He\'s so hit or miss lately I can\'t figure him out.

But the one that really interests me in this race, and should really interest anyone that knows Saratoga well, is Admiral Blue for Leon Blusiewicz.  Doesn\'t appear to be bred to go long, or for grass for that matter, but he shows up here in this spot on Travers Day after having a turf work back on 7/22 and a 1 1/8 race on the dirt 8/5?

Wasn\'t 15-1 but this was easy money. Half to Grade One Turf winner Newsday looks like one with a future. Double was brutally light:(

TGers should be well staked after this race.

nice job Dale, I was riding with you on that one. two for two
so great start, hope to keep it going.

Moose thanks. I\'m holding the line since a hot start. Half the field here in the Travers are contenders the other half pretenders. Freedom sends and how far can he go with only an April foundation. I expect Laoban to send and chase. This will allow both Destin and Gun Runner to drop in and save ground. Gun Runner has proven he doesn\'t like a wet track. He is sitting on a top effort, which he needs, and unlike Destin has only developed 3 points from his February effort. Sire was fast. Dam was fast. This one has a forward move coming. Gonna try and catch it today, right here. Good Luck
