Me and my wife go together for a day or two here and there and also me and my dad but he\'s in Florida. Sometimes I\'ll go up by my self(3 1/2 hour drive) for th day or two days and my wife thinks I\'m nuts. Anyone else go up alone for any length of time?

last friday on the way to work, after a long hard week, i said fuck it, and booked a room for sat night and went up for the weekend by myself...i usually go up with a buddy on labor day weekend, but i needed to get it out of my system...

Not sure if being local counts, but I have gone alone many, many times. I\'m a social sort used to conversing with friends all day at the track, so the day sometimes gets a little long, but still enjoy myself.

Have been to other tracks alone, or to the race book. If you want to be alone with your thoughts on the races, keep to yourself. If you feel like talking to someone, you know you have something in common with them!

I live about 40 miles south of the track & if I really like a card, I\'ll go up & buy a clubhouse seat. I\'m retired-the 1st day of my retirement I went up to Saratoga & got a seat in a clubhouse box. I can go any day of the week since I don\'t work.
On opening day I go with a group & once or twice go with a friend who has clubhouse seats, but I prefer to play alone & concentrate.  I also prefer betting from home because there are no distractions.

I attend the Big Cap every year with buddies. First one was 1991.

One year nobody could make it, so I went alone. Flew down from the Bay Area, booked a room at the Embassy. This was back when they shuttled you from the airport, so I had no rental car. Walked to the track every day (workouts one morning too). I didn\'t think it was strange at all.

And I didn\'t really care if someone thought otherwise.

4 hour drive for me.  used to meet a couple buddies but one has moved and the other is in a nursing home.  so i went by myself last year and brought my tent to the Lake George campground-$40 a day and saved money to gamble with.  Nice location and two pools, wifi, morning coffee and clean private showers.  what else do you need?
But i wont go this year cuz it wasnt the same not having friends to handicap with.  But I am sure richiebee and frank d. would welcome you with open arms if you want company(but not winners!)

I rent a house on Lincoln Thursday before opening day until this morning for the first 8 days of racing. My wife no longer comes, has her friends for a beach weekend. I have my son and we each have some other friends. Everyone left Friday morning and I sat in a box by myself both days and ate out by myself both nights and it was delightful. Then again, I also like to drink alone.

You are so cool.  \"Life is lonely again...\"  \"I\'ll live a lush life in some small dive\".  Drinking and betting horses.  The best.
