Does a filly in heat affect her performance during a race?  According to Frankel, Ginger Punch was in heat prior to the Persoanl Ensign last year at Saratoga.  You may recall she ran one of her best races, much to our chagrin.

On the ESPN telecast last Sunday from Del Mar, it mentioned Sadler has pre-tested the usage of steroids for Dearest Trickski and Whatsthescript and the results came back clean.  Much to my dismay, these horses won anyway.  Whatsthescript was especially painful as I have win bets on the 2nd and 3rd place finishers as well as a cold exacta.

Usually those fast numbers at Finger Lakes do not hold up well at New York main tracks.  However at 5 to 1, I thought it was worth a shot; but couldn\'t pull the trigger as the race was 7F.

Take a look at the entries to the Maker\'s Mark Mile (Friday Keeneland, Race 9).  This is going to be one great race.

Did anyone see the 3rd race from Aqueduct on March 20?  For no apparent reason, on the far turn Charles Lopez riding the even money favorite Half a Note stood up on the horse for at least a second.  Half a Note lost by a neck.  The other favorite in the race, Smoke'n Review, broke slowly from the gate and finished 5th.  Maybe it\'s just my imagination; but the race looks very suspicious to me.
