Video

The video his lawyer provided is a good watch.

I especially find it interesting about the deleted Tweet from Gaffalione.

The whole thing stinks of shit.

Uniformed rules would be great. So would uniformed testing.

I don\'t think the rules change makes much a difference now as the damage is done.

A DQ has happened in the Derby and you can bet anything you\'ll see more riders take a shot in the future. The bar has been set now and the fact it was set on such unsavory grounds, I have no doubt we will see more of it.

And what standard are they going to use now?

What if we see a move like this at the start of the Derby, is it a DQ when someone way outside comes crashing down to get position?

Or are we back to it\'s a roughly run race and there are 20 horses blah blah blah.

Way more damage making that DQ than not. If you leave MS up, people on the #1 or #18 are going to be over it a lot easier than people on #7 who was clearly best. Maybe you have some back and forth but you have the fact the #1 didn\'t claim foul and the stewards never hit the button. Your argument for #1 goes out the window when the rider doesn\'t claim foul so all you have to worry about is the #18, who was not coming home first no matter what.

People are over it by the Preakness. Maybe it gets mentioned again, maybe it doesn\'t.

Instead we have this, and this isn\'t going away. This will be discussed for years and impact the sport forever.

That is why you don\'t make the same call as you do if the same move happens at Indiana Downs on a Wednesday afternoon.

You have to take the entire scenario into play. Look at refs in basketball. You aren\'t calling a foul most times on a game winning shot unless it is brutal. Nobody wants to see a game end that way.

MS is not running in the Preakness with no TC on the line.

the biggest issue for me is Prat calling foul. he told the NBC interview post race that he was bounced SIDEWAYS.

if that doesn\'t leave a bad taste in your mouth, I don\'t know what would.

I can\'t get past the fact we are talking about a rule is a rule and emphasizing rules so much but the whole industry is nothing but liars, cheats, and frauds.

it is disgusting.

I have cut back significantly in the amount I play because of all the unsavory b/s behind the scenes.

I am not well connected like some of the guys on here who know the scoop and the trainers and have \"insider\" knowledge of this sort of thing.

I used to love handicapping races and having the thrill of being \"right\" on a longshot if it comes in.

Now the times I do play I am more concerned about who is also in the race that might be cheating and run something unpredictable?

It\'s completely ruined the sport, at least for me.

Not saying what Prat did was cheating but it is still right up there with the shady dishonest garbage that plagues the sport and makes it harder and harder to enjoy.

LRT did not file an objection that I saw on the simulcast feed (not NBC)

Seems the only info about LRT objecting came long after the fact which makes this whole thing stink of something awful even more than it already did.

watch the beginning of the race again. Flavien comes in from the 20 hole and impedes a horse far more than he was \"compromised\" by MS.

he threw a hail mary and it got caught.

the foul is a foul argument is stupid because these are STEWARDS and they take many different things into consideration.

if you want to start living by the foul is a foul standard you could probably DQ a horse in a whole lot more races than is the current rate.

how many times does a foul is a foul happen out of the gate or in the 1st turn with no objection?

Any of these stewards working during the Life At Ten debacle ?

If WOW claimed foul, this wouldn\'t be nearly of a joke as it is now.

There was no stewards inquiry. They have replays, there is no way if something major happened they aren\'t putting the inquiry sign up, period. And they didn\'t.

If a jockey claims foul you should be looking at his claim only, not oh hey maybe the horse impacted another jockey who DIDNT EVEN CLAIM FOUL. otherwise why don\'t you go back and dissect every single aspect of the race and start making other changes too?

can you imagine the backlash the NFL would get if someone challenged a catch but called a holding penalty on the lineman while they watched the review of the pass being made?

How often is a winner taken down purely on an objection only with no stewards inquiry at all?

That question only needs be asked of Tyler Gaffalione, and he already answered it resoundingly.

I respect your opinions highly Sekrah and used the #20 because of you, but how can you say this is so obvious when we wouldn\'t even be talking about this right now had the #20 (who wasn\'t even impeded) didn\'t take a shot and claim foul?

There was no claim from WOW or a stewards inquiry, so I really struggle with the take that it was a 45 second no brainer decision.

Exactly your points, Frank.

A flagrant foul is going to draw a stewards inquiry regardless, and it didn\'t.

A flagrant foul against you is going to draw an objection from the jock who was impeded against. It wasn\'t.

Those are facts.

I don\'t know how after these 2 facts, you take a look after an objection by a horse that was not even bothered and was handily beaten.

The only other side of the coin is people who have something against Servis or who took a stand against this horse completely and were just flat out wrong in thinking he couldn\'t get it done.

saw the headline on one site read Country House awarded the Kentucky Derby.

fantastic headline because they did not win that race. He ran his eyeball out and was spectacular but they in no way won that race, it was handed to them.

I am sure the money that comes along with winning a Derby is nice but if I am Bill Mott I am pretty embarrassed if that is my Derby \"win\", that is for sure.

Who claimed the objection? #20 or #1?

Did MS come out? Sure did. Was it corrected immediately and didn\'t impact the winners of the race? Sure was.

Did WOW claim an objection on what was \"such an obvious horrendous foul\"? Sure didn\'t.

Did Flavian Pratt take a shot and back his way into what should be an embarrassing win for all connected? Absolutely.
