Yes, the enemy is well dressed and walks amongst us. I have realized this for some time.
Now, it seems they are everywhere and more than we realized

SPORSTMANSHIP is a real thing and it is the base, the heart and soul of solid organizations and communities.  Sportsmanship is a REAL VALUE, a way of living and working
But Sportsmanship, too, diminishes with each and every moment of corruption

We each have to choose- especially you big guys out there-
“Am I going to be a real Sportsman first, or a just another squirrel looking for a nut?”

Dale, are you listening?

Stand firm to the worm, All.

Corruption is another expression of anarchy. It is not justifiable because ‘everyone is doing it’
And yes,  corruotion is part of the human condition, but it is not our better self and we don’t have to live corruptly. Everyone gets a choice. Everyday you get a choice

Me, personally, thinks the horseracing industry ought to focus on:
1a Diminishing foal crops
1b Rooting out the CAW financial parasite that is skewing and thus impinging on fair parimutuel outcomes.
Such conduct only diminishes all aspescts of the industry and sport, financial, social, municipal, etc.
The tracks are the host and the CAWs are the parasite that are devouring the parimutuel pools.
This is a slow kill of the body itself. We need to deworm and the tracks just have to swallow the medicine.
We can\'t stand by and just die

Yes! Ok, now I do recall reading a headline about that.
I will try to keep up on that, but please keep the board updated, too.
If you feel there is any immediate thing a solo bettor effectively do towards this rectification, please let us know.
Thank you

I haven’t finished reading this thread yet, but I have been following the discussion here re the CAWs.

Two things I have to add.
First, I’m just going to say itâ€"- this is the EPSTEIN of horse racing and its parimutuel gambling.
It is corrupt, skewed, and abusive to everyone else. The tracks themselves are co-conspirators. Shame on them. They are eating their own.
This is all still mostly in the dark but needs to be brought into the light.
I think the discussions on this board are probably the only effort out there to do so. Please keep it up, persevere.

Second: Horseplayers lack effective litigation resources. Is there any chance of a horseplayers association forming and retaining real litigation powers? i.e. real shark lawyers. I would pay dues to that end.

If something isn’t done, the game will continue to lose players as payouts continue to diminish.
I remember when Saratoga turf triples were routinely 4-figure payouts. I have no problem betting $100, $200 to hit that, but I ain’t going to lay $10 down to hit a $75tri
Multi-race winning wagers were once upon a time routinely close to life-changing payouts, and it took bucks and balls to play one.  Now, three and four figure payouts in multi-race wagers are routine.
Too many races payout a pittance for the effort regular live players put in,  even on big days.
And that isn’t because some people have better data. It is because of the CAW corrupt wagering models allowed by THE TRACKS THEMSELVES, who are truly the greedy guilty party in this downward spiral.
We fight it or we die.
They are killing the thrill.

And likewise, I have scaled back my wagering.  It’s not worth it on most races now. I love numbers and handicapping, but the thrill is in cashing a big ticket. And the Thrill is bleeding out.

I will help do whatever it takes to free our parimutuel wagering from this CAW parasite. We need organization and leadership. This is not a naive plea.

Fact checking is a necessary thing, and appreciated

I guess then he has served what ever penalty they originally prescribed, as he was suspended from HISA tracks.
Maybe he is creeping his way back in.

Texas is not in compliance with HISA, nor is Louisiana or West Virginia.

Diodoro is suspended from running at HISA tracks. He has zero regard for any rules let alone compliance.

Well there you have it.
Dubai, home turf of Goldolphin. In fact, they own the whole country, United Arab Emerites.
HISA/HIWU has no jurisdiction there. However, the UAE does have the ERA , Emirates Racing Association which is essentially the racing commission over thoroughbred racing in Dubai, UAE. Including overseeing their medication policies and testing.

For the sake of the breed, all horses should be under the same testing protocols during their racing careers.

What the hay

I, for one, get it.
Goldolphin and Co.\'s condescenscion towards the traditional importance of the Triple Crown can only be proximately redeemmed by running him as a four yr old. And my guess is that would be the plan? They seem to have a greater plan than the Triple Crown. What would that be?
Any change in the The Test of Champions, would necessarily entai a new paradigm for breed performance standards.
Let\'s forego the many Chicken Littles and thinl seriously about breed performance standards.
Let\'s say the Test of Champions extends to any given crop\'s four yr old season.
Let\'s say a horse must run in designated graded stakes races as a 3yr old AND as a 4yrold to get the top honors. Where a crop runs against themselves as 3yr olds AND must run again against each other as 4yr olds. If you want a new path, let it be a real path.
By Goldolphin and Co.\'s own words, they essentially forfeited the Preakness.
So let\'s run through next year.

And, Rispoli was out of his league. SA and DMR ain\'t hardknocking tracks. He didn\'t have the chops. Sovereignty benefited from more savy connections.
It was painful to watch the Belmont replay. (missed it live)
I knew when they got to the far turn Sovereignty had it won. And I bet so did Junior Alvarado
Most jockeys can ride the horse.
Good jockeys can ride the horse and the race.
Today, Rispoli did neither.
it\'s a tough ask jumping fron sunny So Cal for anyone

Michael Mcarthy had that horse as well as he could have been. He danced all the dances. Great horsemanship

Christophe Clement.

 Condolences to the Clement family.

Christophe was genuinely hay, oats, water. In the age of rampant and legal steroids and equipoise, etc., he never ever used that stuff on his stock. It’s called class, real class, and his owners were likewise.
Real training and horsemanship.

A true loss to the sport.
Godspeed, Christophe.

In the slop am taking the American Pharoahs, Publisher is my longshot key anyway

Having been itching to bet the Journalism/Publisher exacta for weeks. Wouldn\'t that be special...
Journalism is not just superior but he is supreme and he knows it. Itis his world. he is THE MAN. Today will be a test on all fronts for him. I am most worried about trip troubles more than surface or kickback.

am betting th Pharoahs ahe He in tri, too. Wouldn\'t that be special...

Good luck to all

Journalism is clearly the superior horse.
He has the sweetest stride I’ve seen since American Pharoah.
Though, I need to watch more Luxor Cafe videos as he is the best looking specimen to me in the race. Not leaving him out.
I think Journalism is vulnerable under certain trip conditions which I think have a good chance of playing out.  He will follow the speed inside, but there is outside speed coming over too. Not everyone is going to make it.
He has Burnham Sq and Hernandez and Grande and Velazquez next over. He can easily get trapped on the rail with no easy out. He overcame adversity in the SA Drby but that wasn’t a real battle. He won’t get out so easily this time if he is pinned in. He could get schooled. Do you think Hernandez or Velazquez  will let him out?  He will to hang tight and wait for a hole, and consequently, he may not be among the first to make their move.
At 3-1 or less and giving that very possible trip scenario and my bankroll, I have to leave him out of first place.
Nevertheless, may the best horse win

I am still under my self imposed ban and shall remain so, but  I confess I do peek in now and then...had to get a new password to respond to this...

Will Take Charge....Iron Horse for real...his dam is Take Charge Lady...William Schettine gets credit as her breeder because he purchased Take Charge Lady\'s dam, Felicita, when  she was in foal with Take Charge Lady. Take Charge Lady, damn of WTC and Take Charge Indy, was the foal Felicta was carrying at the time of her purchase. I want to note that Gallaghers Stud of Ghent NY made the mating that produced Take Charge Lady, but due to the owner\'s illness at the time and certain management decisions by others, Felicita was put into the sales ring in foal to Dehere and bearing the foal that would become Take Charge Lady.  Because the mare foaled Take Charge Lady under Schettine\'s ownership, he got credit for the breeding of Take Charge Lady though the mating was by Gallaghers Stud. (And major kudos to Schettine for an astute purchase.) Gallaghers Stud is a small privately owned farm in NY which has always looked to breed for class and not cheap speed. So imagine that bred to Unbridled Song who threw real speed, not cheap speed. This horse is a genuine Champion.

The point of this post is twofold, one to give certain credit where certain credit is due and to emphasize the innate, well thought out class of Will Take Charge.

I would be hard pressed to bet against him, regardless of the odds. If he looks happy and full in the paddock, go for it.

Ciao
