You are correct Lasix has nothing to do with breakdowns. Injuries are going to happen in horse racing just like they happen in all sports.

I think the problem is with some of the things that are being done to the horses to get them to race. I can\'t tell you which trainers are doing what to the horses but some of the things that they do are not in the best interest of the horse.

This is still a business and people pay a lot of money to trainers to get the horses in the winner circle. Some trainers will try just about anything to improve a horse and get them to run faster. Which could be causing some of the injuries and breakdowns.

Santa Anita did just about everything they could do to not have a horse breakdown during the Breeders Cup. They had a lot of vets checking the horses. They slowed the track surface down.

The best way to curb injuries is to go after the few unscrupulous people that are doing things that are not good for horse racing. I do believe that the majority of the trainers and all the people that take care of the horses truly want what is best for them.

I wanted to thank you for the winners. They made a nice pick 4 even with the 2 favorites in between.

Frank sorry for your loss.

I just lost my father a suddenly a few days ago.I herd him fall in the bathroom he was able to answer my questions at first but then stop breathing and had to do CPR while on the phone with 911.  This is the hardest thing I ever had to deal with.I can not get this experience out of my head.

My father played the horses his whole life. He would watch TVG all day. I can,t even turn it on now. He first took me to the Monmouth park when I was 5 years old. I wasn\'t even allowed to go in the track back then. My mother would have to stay out side with me. All I could do was look through fence. I even remember the first horse I told him to bet his name was Mr.Brick and of course he won and have been playing the horses for 53 years now.

My father would go just about everywhere with me. If I was out working in the middle of the night he would always call me to see if I was OK. He would always worry about no matter how old I was. I am going to miss all that so much.

I thought that by writing about this it might help me. My dad did not have life insurance and my friends put this GoFundMe page up.

Thanks for the stats.

You still have to use the sheets for the race. The horse has to have a fighting chance. Some horses are rats and nothing you do can get them to win.

Back to American Freedom he is a good horse with a fighting chance in the Travers.I look at the blinkers off as good move for this horse. In a 14 horse field the front is not a bad place to be.

One of the handicapping angles I look for is speed horses taking blinkers off first time in there life.

I find that a speed horse will get brave on the front end with blinkers off but only when it is the first time without blinkers.

Of course it does not work all the time but it does work more than you would think and the horse should have some sort of chance looking at the numbers.

I have to think that Baffert knows what he is doing and they will be sending American Freedom right to the front.

They are using Timeform PP. Must have partnered with them. I would not use them for free. You might as well just buy sheets. It might work with more mainstream PP.

I have used them bad allergies. They do help some. I just can not see anyway they will improve performance.

Did you get that study off the Flare website?

I posted a link to a study it has no effect on performance.

You should all put one on. If you think this stupid band aid will improve your performance in any activity let me know. The only possible benefit is for snoring in a small % of people.
