On a day where it is pouring, and the turf is now \"good,\" you have the odds to take a shot.

King Zachary is one I am looking at as well. You have to like the breeding with Curlin as the sire and a dam out of Giant\'s Causeway. Getting the distance shouldn\'t be a question. The horse is also on the 3rd start after a layoff and has solid connections. The horse is lightly raced and has room to improve. This is even before you start talking about handicapping.

Track seems fair so far. Weather look like it will be ok too. Looks like it should be around 75 degrees at post time with partly cloudy.

what might his figure have been if he didn\'t lose that shoe? i don\'t know what difference that would make, but I can imagine a little bit better. i am also not saying, \"make him your key\". i am just saying he has to be a contender.

I think you have to move up Dortmund. He lost a shoe at the start of the SA Derby plus has Big Brown and Bob Baffert. I like his draw.

They did say Chrome has two full sisters. I do hope they will run Chrome next year. I know a lot of people would send him to stud, but I haven\'t heard any comments on that from the owners.

Sek makes a good point. Even if CC wins, the Tri and Super should still be good. Reference the 2008 Preakness with Big Brown on top:

Pgm  Horse           Jockey       Win   Place   Show
 7   Big Brown       Desormeaux  2.40    2.60   2.40
 1   Macho Again     Leparoux           17.20  10.40
 3   Icabad Crane    Rose                       5.60

Winning Time:  1:54.80

$2 Exacta 7-1                36.30
$2 Trifecta 7-1-3           336.80
$1 Superfecta 7-1-3-6      1192.30

I also like Kid Cruz, but I think it will be dangerous to leave CC off altogether. My own perception is that even if you beat the favorite, so often they come back in 2nd or 3rd. You also have to like the odds on General A Rod. I haven\'t heard anything though about how he came out of the Derby. It would be nice to know if he is holding his weight.

I don\'t claim to be good, but there are a lot of factors. Some are:

1. TG Seminar
2. Bruno De Julio workout reports
3. Ask the Experts
4. Post Position
5. Trainer/Jockey
6. Weather

Ask the Experts / Re: will pays....Derby P4s

There seems to be some weirdness at the moment. Look at the pick 6 will pays. I see $1937.60 for the 2 Harry\'s Holiday, yet the 5 California Chrome is $22,296.40. The #7 We Miss Artie is showing $1811.60.

I was planning on playing the closers today given the amount of speed in the race. It should be highly pressured, but the trace was sealed yesterday prior to the start of racing and very fast. It looks very fast today after the first race.

Hopefully, my Rosie double will come through.
