Ask the Experts / Old School SPA
August 26, 2016, 07:30:37 AM
WOW.  NONE of the usual 3-5.5f Turf races.  Only one NYB and you have to wait for the last race and its midnight post time.  Terrific races, terrific horses, big fields, plenty of turf routes.
Should be a MOST entertaining day of racing and hopefully profitable.  Good luck to all.

A good friend is heading to Lexington.  Wondered if any breeding operations are particularly worth visiting.  Any Thoughts.

Ask the Experts / 3rd Try at the SPA this meeting
August 31, 2010, 08:50:32 AM
A bunch of horses entered over the next few days are running for the third time this meeting.  Anyone have any thoughts on how horses doing this tend to perform.  3 tries seems like a lot to me, even for runners who are legitimate SPA lovers.  Some of them ran early in the meet on off going when rained off the turf.  Just curious if anyone has a view how this affects performance.

Ask the Experts / SPA Seminar 9/4-5???

Do you plan to have seminars on the final saturday/sunday of the Saratoga meet?

Richie,
Awesome yarn.  With author William Murray (Tip on a Deal Crab, et al.) having passed on in 2005, there is plenty of room for some entertaining books on racing, especially, set at the Spa. like Murray i suspect you can delve into the underbelly of the sport. If the exotics don\'t come your way, sit down and write one. Your style is fantastic.

Ask the Experts / TGJB Saratoga Seminar 8/7/2010
August 07, 2010, 11:51:58 PM
Outstanding work by TGJB yesterday in a succinct 35 minute session.  Sorry the golf was bad Jerry, but the handicapping was long and down the middle of the fairway with a chip-in or two.  If anyone at todays seminar has a chance to post TGJB\'s highlights it would be appreciated.  Unfortunately on my way home at 0-dark hundred.   Good punting to all today.

Great post Chack.
TGJB,  From Steve Christ the Red Smith quote is;  \"From New York City you drive north for about 175 miles, turn left on Union Avenue, and go back 100 years.\"
The race course is a treasure and the town is very fine.
MYRA did a great job with new bar and food vendors (Bluesmoke and Shake Shack) next to paddock and path to the track. No better place to view horses and riders.  Need a clubhouse ticket;  there is no seating.
Heartily recommend Max Londons for dinner.

Not to interrupt the Rachel raging, but has anyone looked at the Lake George.  It might turn out to be the most competitive race of the meet.  I can only toss 2 of the 12 and that may be wrong.  Thoughts are much appreciated.
