So you want me censored and kicked off this forum because I expressed an opinion that disagreed with yours? How republican of you. Maybe you can get them to tap my phone to make sure I\'m not a commie, a terra-ist sympathizer or (god forbid) anti-andrew Beyer.

Ask the Experts / Re: Andy Beyer on Triple Crown Spacing

If the brush fits...
You and everyone else are being lied to on a daily basis by a corporate-owned media with interests to protect which are not necessarily your interests. They know that all they have to do is feed their swill to a beer-drinking TV-watching uneducated ignorant mouth-breathing knuckle-dragging moronic American Idol worshipping public. If they see it on TV or the newspaper they\'ll believe anything without question. Wasn\'t it just last week that Beyer was proclaiming Barbaro as a certain triple crown winner, in order to hype up the Preakness and the racing industry?

>So Again for clarity- you know for certain that Andy Beyer is on the take? He\'s a schill for the industry?
He knows where his bread is buttered, and isn\'t about to do or write anything which will rock the industry that his paycheck and gambling activities depends on.
Just like everyone else in the media who kisses up to the government line and supports a liar like George W Bush because they\'re scared to lose the access that their news business depends on.

Beyer is just another media hack who is being paid to cover up the real issues by those with a financial interest to do so. If selective breeding is supposed to produce a better horse, then how come we\'ve gone from Kelso winning the JCGC at 2 miles under 130 pounds to runners who can barely stagger 10 furlongs? How come European runners can routinely race at 12-16 furlongs without breaking down? Maybe it\'s because they don\'t allow or tolerate drugs being given to their runners like they were M&Ms. Folks unless this industry can come to grips with the fact that the American Way of medicating and doping runners and breeding horses with roid-damaged genes is the crux of the problem, you will never solve the problem and you will continue to have more breakdowns. Americans like to think that they\'re the center of the horse racing world but it\'s becoming clear that it is now the bottom of the barrel.

It is not the job of TVG to investigate. Their sole purpose is to sweep things under the rug as not to hurt the industry, and to hide racing\'s dirty little secret: about how steroids are destroying the breed and causing changes in race horses\' skeletal structure, and weakening them to the point where a breakdown is inevitable. If something isn\'t done to get rid of steroids and other drugs in racing then this will no doubt happen again, and there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth about \"damage to the sport\", and the cheaters will keep on killing horses for a short-term gain. Have the dopers taken such control over the sport that we can make a million and one excuses and theories as to why this happened but ignore the most obvious reason???

The day before the Derby that Swale won was run, there was a story on the back page of the NY Post, a rumor that Swale would be scratched from the Derby due to some sort of \"reaction to medication\" he was given.

The only way anyone ever listens is by voting with your wallets. As long as people keep betting on these races they will keep going on with business as usual.

Jeff Mullins was right.
They didn\'t get mad at him for saying it but because he exposed the attitude that most of them have towards the bettors because 99% of them agree with it.
