Justice Department, FBI Join Pick Six Probe

In a dramatic expansion in the investigation into the alleged fixing of a winning Pick Six ticket during the World Thoroughbred Championships Breeders\' Cup Oct. 26, the U.S. Justice Department, through federal prosecutors in Manhattan, along with the FBI, have joined the effort to see if criminal activity was involved.
United States Attorney for the Southern District in New York, James B. Comey, released the following statement Friday afternoon: \"At the request of the New York State Police, this office, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, is assisting in this matter.\"

The U.S. Attorney\'s office is part of the federal Justice Department. Because the alleged wire fraud involves various states, it falls under the jurisdiction of FBI involvement.

Hello Mall,

Really it\'s only 11 miles from Ohare?!  Then perhaps we will be able to make it after all.  I would like very much to meet you and \"the others\".

Thank you so very much for the information.

Hopefully I will see you tonight.

Mall,
What do you mean one of the others?

Actually I am afraid that I will not be able to make it, after the race we are going back into Chicago to have dinner at the Four Seasons.

I am sorry that I will not be able to meet you all but I thank you Jerry for the invite.

I would also like to wish everyone the very best of luck.  Jerry, we will be sitting in the Marquee Village  Level 1 Section A Row G Seats 7-10.  If your seats are any where near there please stop by to say hello we will have access to the paddock and the first floor.

Hello Mall,

I like your analysis, it makes a lot of sense. Thank you so much for sharing it. Bonapaw looked like a strong contender to me as well.  I have one question, I know that Kona\'s running style is to come from off of the pace.  Do you think it will set up for him to get up in time and if he can what do you think of Swept Overboard\'s chances?  I read that Steven Crist with DRF is high on Swept Overboard but to me his # dont look nearly as low as Bonapaw\'s Xtra Heat\'s or Orientate\'s.

What do you think?

Ask the Experts / Breeders Cup Considerations

Distaff:  Imperial Gesture With three great races in a row and impressive TG #s in those last three races and the fact that she is sure to have compnay on the front end, is Imperial Gesture primed for a bounce?

Are Azeri\'s numbers deceiving or is she better than she looks?  In analyzing her TG numbers she does not look to be the best in here.  If she is the favorite (as most seem to be expecting), it looks like there are several better horses here or am I misinterpreting this?  Will Azeri be this years OFFICER?  Is it my imagination or does Mandy\'s Gold look to have great numbers.  Actually, I was impressed looking at her line.

Juvenile Fillies: Storm Flag Flying was flying on the 15th of September when she won the Matron but then came back to win with a worse # in the Frizette.  Are Santa Catarina or Composure ready to move up?

Mile: I am looking very forward to seeing Rock of Gibralter\'s numbers.

Alan, Chris, and Kevin, thank you so very much.  I truly appreciate your advice.  I just want to be sure that I understand all of the variables.

Alan, I apologize I guess that I already asked that question in a previous post.  I did not mean to repeat myself but I am glad that I can throw that hypothesis out the window once and for all.

Best of luck to you all and I look very forward to sharing my picks with you all and hearing your picks as well.

Those of you going to the BC I look forward to meeting you in person.

Thanks again.

One last question.....I have a theory and Id like to know if you guys think it floats or not.  If you take the last 4 or 5 races of a horse (not using this for the juveniles)  and add up the number then average it out by the number of however many races you were looking at.   Like if Horse A has a (1) and a (1) and a (1) and a (1) in each of the last 4 races = 4 /4 = an average of 1.   Horse B has a (1) and a (1) amd a (1) and a (0)= 3 divided by 4 which comes to .75 there fore by looking at the averages Horse B is the one to bet.

Does this work and am I off base here.  I am here to learn.

Thank you.

I just downloaded and printed the prelimnary Breeders Cup Thorograph Sheets.  I am looking for some helpful hints on how best to interpret the figures.

Also I am  somewhat confused by the negative #s. What is the best way to interpret these?  For example one of my favorites for the Sprint has 3 negative races in a row.  How should I interpret this? Stupid question: but negatives are a good thing right?

Thank you in advance for your help.  I am so excited for the Breeders Cup I can not think about anything else right now.

Ask the Experts / Re: When will BC Sheets Be Available?

Hello Jurmala Berzins and thank you for your reply.  Actually I already have my BC tickets and am ready to go.

I thank you for clearing up the information regarding the \"breakdown situation\" at Arlington Park because that is the one thing that can turn me off this sport.

I would prefer to download them from your site here so that I can study them on the plane on my way to Chicago.

I leave Friday October 25th in the AM.

By the way, are you TG guys going?

P.S. October 3rd I am flying to Kentucky to visit my namesake, Point Given and to attend the opening day at Keeneland.

Ask the Experts / Breeders Cup 2002

I have noticed that many of the European horses that are entered into races here sometimes do not have numbers next to their races listed on the sheets just a box is displayed. I understand that it is difficult to get figures for the races overseas butI was wondering if on the Breeders Cup there will be numbers available for the Euros shipping in like Rock of Gibralter and Hawk Wing just to name a few.

Also will the TG Sheets be available at Arlington?

Is anyone else here going to the breeders Cup?
